I booked this hotel due to the price! its a good decent price for people whom don't need the extra facilities. Which for me was the case. Having been back just a week ago, the experience is still fresh in my mind. It's a 15 minute walk away from where the airport bus stoped on the Gran via de colon which is the main road and stops for buses/coaches. We found the Hotel pretty easy to find as we got a map from the Airport tourist info centre which the lady had kindly marked for us. The streets are all named so it is eady to get around and find where you are on the map too but one wrong turn and you could be going totally in the opposite direction, it's so easy to get confussed all the streets look the same! There is a bus from the Airport to Granada which only costs 3 Euros each. It took us about 30 mins to get to Granada city.

On arriving at the Hotel, we were quite confussed as the name from afar was Luna Arabial and as we turned the coner to enter the Hotel the name had been changed to Hotel De Granada. Anyhow, the Hotel rooms were very clean infact spotless. We had a double and a triple room which both came with dining tables and kitchens. Be warned Breakfast is not served in this hotel, each morning we had to walk to the 4star part of the Hotel which was a 2min walk to the other side, and thats not internal either. To be honest i didnt really mind that fact as i could expect it for the price i paid. For people who want to take their breakfast to their room was a defo NO NO. The Hotel is a 15 min walk from the Centre and it took us 30 mins to walk to the Alhambra but for people who walking is a problem i wouldnt recommend this hotel at all.

We decided to walk to Alhambra as it wasnt really as far as it seemed on the Map, but there are buses that go all around Granada for only 1 Euro they have 'Autobus Alahambra' on them. These can be caught from Grand Via De Colon (main road). When we asked about a bus which leaves daily from the Hotel to Alahambra at reception they told us it would cost us 45 Euros each which came with a guide and it leaves pretty early in the morning. This is way to much to pay and to be honest they lied and told us it would be difficult to get tickets if we hadn't already brought in advance. We took our chances and went anyway, We had no problems buying our tickets but there are certain times you can enter the palace. We had a 4 hour wait so we decided to chill out in Albaicin and go back at 2pm which was the entrance time on the ticket. Buying via the Net would be a good idea to anyone wanting to be well prepared but to us it really didnt make a difference.

After a long days walking i was ready for a long soak in the bath but to my suprise i was dissapointed that we weren't given bath plugs and when we asked at reception they told me to go to the supermarket to buy one! not a good start! Eventually bath plugs were given, though it was a lil too late as we were going back home the next day! Better late than never i guess! There are no facilities in this hotel besides Internet, wifi and a swimming pool which is shut in Oct, even though i felt it was hot enough for it to be open. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people who cant walk long distance or for people with young children.

For food i would recommed Sol Doner Kabab which is cheap and tastey! just 2 min walk from the Hotel.

My boyfriend, brother, and I were pleased with our stay at Luna Arabial in Granada in Late June. We chose it because it was one of our cheapest options, within walking distance of the bars and restaurants of Granada, and it had parking available (for 12 euros a day!) Parking closer to the city center of Granada appeared to be impossible! We were pleasantly surprised with our room. We had expected one room for the three of us, however, we were given an apartment with two separate bedrooms and a kitchen also! The rooms were pretty old-fashioned (and almost a little dirty) but that didn't bother us too much. As mentioned in previous reviews, it is a bit of a walk to the center, so I would not recommend this one to people who have trouble walking. My only warning would be to not use the phones! We attempted to use the hotel phone to make a call to a Madrid phone number. We initially had many problems connecting, but we were finally able to make a phone call. The bad surprise came when we checked out and they charged us almost 8 euros for the measly few minutes we talked! Stay away from those phones- They're old and they don't work well and you might get overcharged like us!

We booked this hotel for a very low price from travelocity and for the price we paid, it met our needs. It is a bit of a distance from the center (10 to 15 minutes by foot) so if you are not walkers like my bf and I are, you should probably should not stay here. As I said, the hotel was clean enough and the room was spacious. If I had paid more, I would expect newer sheets and mattresses as the ones present seemed quite dated. I would have given this hotel a 3 rather than a 2, but the maids kept us up in the mornings. Since we are late sleepers we did not complain, but around nine in the morning they would be screaming at each other in the hallway. We thought we were just unlucky because we were near the cleaning closet, but I'm sure the entire floor could hear them.

We stayed 3 nights at the Luna Arabial while we were in Granada and were happy with our stay.

It's location about 15 minutes' walk from the town centre (i.e. the Cathedral), but if you don't feel like walking, there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and another about 5 minutes' walk away on the parallel main road, Carmina de Ronda. Both bus stops seem to have very regular buses going into town or out of town to the main bus station. Granada's sight-seeing hop on/off tour bus also stops at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. The only minor snag is that there is no bus time-table for the sight-seeing bus there, so, you don't really know how long you need to wait for the next tour bus.

The 3-star Luna Arabial is the annex to the 4-star Gran Luna hotel which you will see on the main street. To get to the Luna Arabial, you have to go round the corner and turn right. If you can't find it, just got back to the 4-star Gran Luna and ask for directions. It's part of the same hotel group so they won't think you are being cheeky!

Our twin room looked like a small studio flat. There was a kitchen with a working fridge, sink and an electric hob (though no cooking utensils / cutlery provided), a small dining table for two , a TV (only Spanish channels) and 2 large single beds which you can put together / pull apart. The bathroom is pretty big - accommodating a bathtub/shower unit, toilet, bidet, sink unit and lots of space to hang towels. Shower worked well - good water pressure and ample hot water. Our only complaint was that our shower seemed to spray water all over the bathroom floor, despite all our efforts to contain it. Consequently, we found water leaking into the bedroom, under the dividing wall, everytime we had a shower! Still, it was fairly minor and the staff were very apolegetic about it when we complained about it and sent someone to clean up and fix it immediately.

We found the room quite noisy, despite closing the windows, as our room was quite near the main road. However, again, it wasn't a big problem for us as we are heavy sleepers.

Breakfast was a buffet in the 4-star Gran Luna hotel next door. We thought the breakfast was really good with plenty of choice to cater for most people, ranging from a cooked breakfast to continental-style ham/ cheese/ fresh rolls / cereals / fruit / yoghurt, etc. It can get a bit hectic though when lots of people with families seem to turn up for breakfast.

Incidently, there are quite a number of food places near the hotel - including a large supermarket/hypermarket in the department store 'El Cortes Ingles'. We liked the local 'bocadillios' (similar to filled baguettes) from one of the small tapas places nearby and the falefel from the local kebab place.

Finally, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Service is excellent and all the staff spoke very good English. There is daily room service but you can always put a sign outside if you do not want to be disturbed (e.g. if you are sleeping off the jet lag).

All in all, we felt it was pretty good value for money (as we had booked a cheap deal) and we wouldn't mind staying there again next time.

I stayed at the Luna for 4 nights in April 05. It was my first time in Granada, and my first time in Spain in general. And thanks to my wonderful experience at this hotel, I had the most fantastic holiday. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and in future visits I will stay there again. My room (a shared double) was spacey, with a dining area, a television that aired English-speaking news programs (among others), and a kitchen. It felt more like a small apartment that a hotel. The bathroom was also quite large, with a bathtub/shower and a good supply of hot water. The cleaning staff always did a thorough job, and were friendly. And there was always a helpful, English-speaking receptionist. Best of all, the Big Bus tour bus stops right in front of the hotel, so when it came time to go sightseeing, i just had to step onto the sidewalk downstairs. It can get a bit noisy on weekend nights if your room is facing the street, but not unbearably so. The reception area is very tacky-looking, and so is the bar, but those are about the only negative things I can think of. Overall, it was a magnificent place.
