I travelled with a group of 6 friends to Granada and booked the 4* Los Angeles some time ago. We arrived at about 8pm and were all very impressed with the hotel from the outside and indeed the lobby.

The man on reception was very helpful and we quickly got checked into our 5 rooms. The corridoors to the rooms were very impressive and I was looking forward to seeing my room. However, I opened the door and felt a little disappointed. The room was large (3 large single beds) but very dated. The furniture was tired and worn and the bathroom was ready for a make over. Also, the was no safe and minibar, which is normally standard in a 4* Hotel.

On meeting my friends back at reception it seemed some others were disappointed too. As it was raining we decided to eat in the hotels restaurant on the 4th floor. This was busy and was also hosting a wedding party but we were served by a very efficient and friendly waiter. The food was of a high standard and there was plenty of it. Overall, for a hotel restaurant it was very good.

On returning to my room on the 2nd floor (room 203), I could here furniture scraping along the tiled floor of the room above. After several minutes this did not stop and decided to go onto the 3rd floor to investigate. On arriving at the 3rd floor, I soon realised that the noise was actually coming from the wedding guests in the 4th floor restuarant. This was now after midnight.

I returned to my room and called reception. I asked to move rooms and was offered an alternative room immediately without question. This was room 236. Although on the same floor, this room is in the newer part of the hotel and not under the restuarant area. This room was fantastic. This is like the rooms the hotel shows on Expedia. It was modern, new. It was large in size with safe and a fridge (not stocked). The bathroom was large and modern. Infact there was a bath with shower and in seperate room was a large shower cubicle and the toilet.

This room was quiet during the evening, however with I think most Spanish hotels, having the tiled floors means that when the person in the room above wakes up, everyone wakes up!

Each day during our stay we ate breakfast at the hotel. This is a buffet breakfast and offers a large selection of meats, hot food, cakes, toast, juices, etc. This cost 7 euros and in my opinion was well worth it.

The hotel is quite a walk into the centre on Granada (30 or more minutes) but we ordered taxi's several times from reception and from them to be relatively cheap and prompt.

Although we did not get the chance to use the hotel Spa and Pool facilities, we did check them out and I have to say they looked excellent. The Spa and Massage is at extra cost.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay but please be aware that not all the rooms are 4* standard (the original was 2* in my opinion). However, the bar, spa, restuarant, breakfast, staff all make up for this.

We chose this hotel through the TripAdvisor website and because of the limited choices that were available during the time of our stay, during a religious holiday in Granada. The location was very good; an easy walk to the city center and shopping and also within walking distance, although an uphill climb, to the Alhambra. We were politely greeted at the desk by a young man (one of two young men who were very helpful with information and directions; a third, older man was a grouch who we avoided after our first try at asking for directions). The room was old but appeared clean; however, our toilet ran during our entire stay - not constantly - just every two minutes. We ran the air conditioning to block out the sound of the toilet until the smell of rotten egss filled our room. If you stay here, request any floor other than the third floor which is located directly below the dining room and ballroom. The last night of our stay, a large wedding reception was being held and we were kept awake until after 2:00 AM by the sound of chairs being dragged across the marble floor above our heads and people walking constantly about. A very sleepless night! We ate breakfast here, but no other meal. The morning of our checkout, the staff had our car waiting for us in the courtyard which I thought was a nice touch but I would not choose this hotel again.

Being a solo driver/navigator, I chose the hotel because it required no cross-city navigation, being near the southern ring-road, yet within walking distance of the centre. It even has valet parking for its garage (well worth the cost.) The staff were very friendly and helpful, good food, comfortable bed... Hard to fault it, really.

Good hotel in a quiet neighborhood, close to Alhambra, but a little further away from the city centre. Easily accessible by public transportation (minibus) or taxis which are reasonably priced in Granada. Rooms are clean with adequate space. Most rooms have a nice balcony to sit on. The hotel has a nice swimming pool. The restaurant on the top floor -surprisingly for most hotels- had very good food for one lunch that we had; they also serve a decent buffet breakfast. Staff not overly friendly, but efficient. Good value for money.

I knew i was in trouble once the taxi driver motioned for someone from the hotel to come out and help me with my luggage (4 suitcases) and was totally ignored. As my husband, myself and two year old child managed to get the luggage through the front door, the 3 men behind the desk just sat there staring at us. There was no hello or welcome. I asked for one of their renovated rooms and the man behind the desk, basically said that I did not book through them (therefore i did not pay a high enough rate to get that room). Okay, fine. We arrive at an old shabby room that looked like it would fall apart if I touched anything. The bathtub was aligned with rust, which made it scary to step in the tub. I could hear the tenants on either side of me. A husband and wife talking loudly in Spanish, which continued for three days until the wee morning hours. If I spoke Spanish, I could have a conversation with them right through the walls. The worst part about it was when my neighbor went to sleep at night. The snoring was so unbearable, I had to turn the faucet on all night just to tune him out. That is how I slept for three days. His head was just inches from mine in the next room. It was disgusting. I asked to have my room switched after the children in the next room started pounding on the walls so hard, I thought their fists would come through, but I was denied a room change. When a party of 100 people arrived to party all night at the hotel, I gave up on sleep. I asked them what their rate is to use the telephone and they said they did not know. They basically wanted to pull the rate out of their behinds. What an awful, shabby, disgusting hotel. I am so embarrassed for them. When we asked if there was any place open on Sunday night to eat out. They said everything was closed and then proceeded to give the menu for their dining hall. When my husband and child went out anyway, we found every restaurant and pastry shops open. What a bunch of greedy, lying, lazy jerks. They made my experience in Granada an incomplete one and that is just sad. Low class and Low rent. that is the only way to describe this hotel.
