Stayed for a night with 2 small boys in August. Was meant to stay in sister hotel which was overbooked but was really impressed as this one was much better. 10 minute walk to main area but lovely family room which turned out to be two double bedrooms, hallway and large bathroom with sep shower and bath etc. Quiet although central and had a pool on the roof. Didn't use pool but an interesting touch. Kids enjoyed riding the glass outside lift! Very nice staff and good breakfast selection. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed here for the last four days of September 07. Good location - just a ten minute walk from the centre of action in Granada - Cathedral, squares, main shopping streets and bars / restaurants.
Hotel is clean and well run - bedrooms comfortable without being over luxurious. Service is pretty good.
Good value - a number of in house restaurants, small pool on the roof and a few sunbeds to lap up the late autumn sun.
Turn left out of the hotel - and walk 10 mins and you will get to the action. Plenty of bars and restaurants in Navas St, and the Bib Rambla square.
The hotel only gets marked down as a four and not a five in my opinion as it has a bad smoking policy - there are no non smoking rooms (Spain is lagging behind the rest of Europe here) . However all of the rooms have a woodfloor, so this is negated a bit - and as I suffer from mild asthma I did worry - but did not get affected.
From the Albacyn district you can get a great view of the Alhambra - which you will obviously visit. Alhambra and Generalife (and gardens) are magnificent. One word of advice - book in advance on the net or you will be waiting for two hours to get in. And if you have booked using your credit card then go straight to the automatic machines (these will print out your ticket as long as you bring the card with you, ask someone direction for these) - do not go to the "already booked tickets" window or you will queue forever.
I will visit Granada again - and would recommend the San Anton as a base.
Had 3 nights at this 4 star hotel, courtesy of my JAL frequent flyer points. It exceeded my expectations. Much to my surprise the buffet breakfast and all taxes were included. Location was great, a level walk to the centre of the town (10 minutes). The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English and we even managed to make the chambermaids understand our needs (the safe needed to be activated by the security man). One tip - the AC unit has a switch on the side of the thermostat as well as a knob for fan speed by the bed. The accomodation was spacious, spotlessly clean and of a high standard. The view of the Alhambra from the external lifts is great, especially at night.
The airport bus stops at the Palacio de Congressos just opposite the hotel (75 metres) and costs only 3 Euros compared to 25 Euros in a taxi. It's the last stop (la ultima parada) so just stay on it as it passes through the centre of the town. There is a supermarket (closed Sundays) about 200 metres from the hotel - at the end of the parallel street to the north, great for all picnic needs.
Booked this hotel after reading reviews on trip advisor and stayed for two nights during April.
Hotel is in an OK location in the newer part of town, only a 5-10 minute walk from the main shopping and bar areas and after arriving by car we found parking quite easily in an ajoining side street.
Room was plain and clean, though decor is a bit tired and in need of some modernisation. Sound proofing is not great as per many Spanish hotels of this standard and maids were quite noisy in the morning, so not a great nights sleep.
Rooftop pool closed during off season.
Overall I'd say this is an OK hotel to stay at if you get a good deal and Granada is a great city with lots to do, so time spent in the room is minimal.
