I booked 2 nights here at short notice on Expedia.co.uk. I got a single room for £26 a night including breakfast which was an 'expedia offer'. I was expecting a fairly basic place, especially since the hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the port. The reality was none of the sort. This is a fine quality 4* hotel with very well kept anbd extensive grounds. I think the price could have easily been 75 - 100 pounds. There is smart outside pool area, tennis courts, plenty of (safe and free!) parking, restaurant and bar. My room turned out to be a suite which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The resturant buffet dinner was 15.5 Euros and included wine 'a volonte' which was excellent value and the quality of the food was pretty good. Lots of hot and cold choice at the breajfast buffet. It is only a 10 minute walk into the twon of Algeciras which itself is not exactly a tourist destination and basically a staging post for people coming and going to North Africa on the ferries. Not the nicest place but the hotel Reina Cristina is totally different and somewhere I would recommend anyone to use. Oh yeah and they have wireless internet throughout the hotel which costs 9.7 euros per day and is quite fast.

Hope this helps someone!!!!

  • Liked — The grounds are splendid and the restaurant had lots of choice and was well priced
  • Disliked — Only thing that got on my nerves was cheesy 'those are the days my friend' type piped music constantly in all the public areas

We stayed 2 nights in 2 rooms in new section of the hotel. The lobby had a really horrible odor and was dark and uninviting. The rooms were fine and quiet. The odor did not carry up to the rooms. There was no view, actually all you could see was a wall on all sides. There have got to be better places in Granada for the same amoung of money. At least it had parking and was easy to find. Also a reasonable location to the sites.

Got upgraded to a 2 star hole and got no refund for the difference! Staff was extremely unpolite if not rude.

I stayed at the Reina Cristina in early June 2006. I stayed in a twin room and also had a fan with no air conditioner, and spent a very hot night and sleepless night. The next morning I asked to be moved to another room with functioning air conditioning, and they let me change with no problems, but that room also has just a fan and no air conditioning. So I think the air conditioning is possibly non-existent. Ask for a room not facing the street as there is a lot of street noise (drunks coming home at night), and also the sun comes in and heats up the rooms on that side. The location for walking to the cathedral is very good, the single rooms are smallish but not bad, with good decor. The staff is friendly.

We stayed at this hotel in Granada Spain and found it to be very good. Staff was pleasnat and spoke English. The rooms were very nice, clean, large for Europe's standards and the hotel was in a great location in the centre of town.
Very hard to drive to, if you are not familiar with the area. Reasonable breakfast in the morning. The on site restaurant was good, with good tapas and good service.
I'm not sure but it appreared to have an old section and a new sextion we stayed in the new section.
