“Excellent, simple stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

This was a great place, can't say I have any complaints. The room was clean and very nice, the staff was extremely helpful at all hours of the day. The car parking is removed from the hotel so that was not ideal, but I think that is about as good as you can get in Granada (it is a terribly confusing town to drive in). It was a little difficult to find, but again the staff was very helpful.

We stayed here at the start of our holiday and were very happy with the hotel. We arrived during siesta time so the city was easy to navigate, we followed the directions on the hotel website to their car park, but could not locate it so continued on to park right outside the front of the hotel. The reception staff then offered to move our car for us, which was a great help (although you can probably find your own parking for cheaper if you don't mind exploring). The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, but with two twins pushed together to make a double. The bathroom was finished to a high standard and always kept clean.
The hotel itself has a great central location in the pedestrianised part of the city near the cathedral and a number of squares where you can find good food. There is even a stop or the tourist train just down the road, so easy to get around. The hotel also has a cafe/restaurant attached next door, the perfect place to grab some breakfast or lunch.
We very much enjoyed out stay at the hotel and found the staff v friendly and helpful with tips about the city.

Pros
Great Location
Comfortable Rooms
Friendly Staff

Cons
Impossible to find the hotels car-park
No aircon in the rooms
Can be noisey in the streets at night

Room Tip: We were given a corner room, which was nice as it allowed a breeze through the room when the windows...

This is a very good value for money option for those who want to be close to the centre. I travelled from Malaga and it's about 3 minutes walk from where the direct bus (33 from the auto bus station) stops (1st stop after the cathedral) - about 20 mins. It's 5 mins walk to where the regular bus (30) goes up to the Alhambra. The room was spacious and clean and quiet. Reception staff all spoke very good English and were very helpful (I had need urgently of a pharmacist and a 24 hour one is located 3 mins away). The cafeteria food is ordinary, humble but pretends to be nothing else and the entertainment provided by various regulars was priceless comedy. The shower was fine (no hot water on arrival but that was down to a repair made within the hour). My only negative - and it's minor because my Spanish is bad - is that out of 60 TV channels not one was an English news channel. Would I stay here again? Yes.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 324 which was a nice double windowed with shutters room and a very small romeo/juli...

We stayed at Las Nieves for 2 nights at the end of a week's self-catering in the Sierra Nevada, based on reasonable reviews, good location and having private parking close by.
Directions on hotel's website to the parking place were very good, though unfortunately we came from a different direction and got caught up in one-way system close to the hotel. But my wife got out, went to the hotel, and they immediately sorted somebody to return with my wife to the car and guide us round the (complex!) road system to the ingenious lift-entry underground car park. They're obviously used to doing this!
Throughout our short stay, all staff were extremely helpful, polite and efficient.
I had asked when I booked for a quiet room if possible as I knew the hotel was in a central, potentially noisy location. We were given a room on the first floor at the back of the hotel. No view (except of the alley wall 2 metres away!) but we weren't bothered about that. The room and bedroom were fine, clean and well presented. Not huge, but big enough. No complaints at all.
Good central location, within minutes of the Albaicin. We walked everywhere, though buses seemed very frequent, and hotel staff marked up a map to help us. Took us about 20 mins to walk to the entrance to the Alhambra (straightforward, but a lot of uphill, and we walk quite fast...). We didn't eat at the hotel, but very close to some excellent bars, teterias and tapas places.
On departure, we had a very early start, but again the staff sorted our access to the car park and everything worked perfectly.
Overall, the room was fine, if not outstanding, but the friendly and efficient customer service throughout our short stay was outstanding. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: Had heard that rooms at the front could be noisy, though that didn't seem to be the case when we...

We stayed 2 nites in this hotel which gets good marks for the very helpful deskclerks - both speak very good English and are courteous and friendly. We had our chihuahua with us and choices are somewhat limited in hotels accepting dogs. We had asked for a "Cama matrimonial" which means either a double bed or a queen or king. The room had a double but the sheets were twin size and didn't even tuck under the mattress so if you rolled over, the sheet came with you and you ended up sleeping on the mattress as there were no mattress covers either. The worst part....the bed is a very hard board with one foam "mattress" on top and therefore, it was like sleeping on Grant's tomb and neither of us had a good night's sleep. (I asked the receptionist and all beds are the same in all the rooms.) Second problem...there was a chair and a "desk" or table where we were to put our laptop but you could hardly sit down as there wasn't enough room for the chair before it hit the end of the bed. No one could get past to use the bathroom if one was sitting at the desk other than to climb over the bed. Another put-off was that the hotel is on one of those pedestrian walkways (we drove down it anyway to get to the front door to unload our bags) and you have to have a staff person drive with you to the garage and then walk back. Once the car was parked, we were afraid we wouldn't ever be able to find it back to the garage so we just didn't use the car and took taxis. Breakfast wasn't included and the rate was higher than the rate for the beautiful suite we had had in Cordoba.. All that aside, it was a good location, we enjoyed having the little step-out balcony, and the staff were the nicest we've had in our adventure exploring Andalucia!

Room Tip: Ask for twin beds rather than a double or queen as you will end up with a bigger room and they usual...

It would be hard to find a cleaner hotel or more helpful staff (one of them came to get us when we got lost finding the hotel). The location is excellent, but a car is a hindrance here. Like any big Spanish city, it is lively late into the night especially on weekends and holidays, so you should expect some noise. Overall, though, the hotel was an excellent value

Room Tip: If quiet evenings are important to you, let the staff kjnow so they can put you in a quieter part of...

This hotel has a central location very useful for all attractions and bus routes to further away ones. Lots bars and restaurants local too. However quite a lot of noise until at least midnight. With noisy pedestrian traffic and street buskers outside our window on both of the nights we stayed. Plus the water system is very loud. So every time someone above or to the side used the bathroom you could here the water. I checked it wasn't pouring down the wall at one stage it was so loud. The rooms were warm and cosy. We did requested a double bed and got singles. Not a problem really. The reception lady spoke English and couldn't have been more help with us and our car parking. Exceptional service.
This hotel would have been a four if it wasn't for the noise.

Room Tip: Try and be higher than first floor. This would help the noise issue think. Our room was107
