Stayed with my wife on long weekend. We found the hotel to be an excellent good quality tourist class hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was adequate and clean with a good sized bathroom. The bar area was lively and the drinks very reasonably priced. It is in an excellent location for the alhambra but is also very convenient for the city with a very frequent shuttle bus ( no32) running from aprrox 200m from the hotel. ( 1 euro each way). This bus goes to the city centre and the arab quarter.
In the evening there is an excellent bbq dinner on the hotel terrace from 9.30pm to 2.30am. Good food and value for money with excellent waiters.
We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed the whole trip.
As a piece of advise it seems cheaper to get the normal taxi to the airport( 30 euros), the one the taxi called on a meter cost 35 euros.

Perfect location for visiting the Alhambra. Entrance a short walk across the parking lot. Desk staff very helpful and speak english very well and the fact that they could reserve our Alhambra tickets was a big plus.

Otherwise, the hotel is quite basic despite its 4 stars. Rooms and bathrooms a good size, buffet breakfast ok, bit of a canteen atmosphere - but quite honestly for the price we paid we were very happy. Wouldn't plan a longer stay though - too much coming and going and the pool area could definitely do with a bit of a tidy and better sun loungers - we had the 4* Riu Ferrara to compare with later on our trip. Hotel is more a 3 1/2*.

An excellent hotel and an obvious coach hub.Buffets three times a day at a reasonable price. There was a strange whining sound on the north east around room 231 which has been noted elsewhere but otherwise perfect. Walk down to the number 32 one euro fare to city centre or just sit on it for the round trip.Get your tickets for the Alhambra by phone before you leave home...see the web site selling them! There are plenty of seats in the Alhambra everywhere for the older walker.Take a bus from the airport then a taxi from the catherdral to the Alexaris. Take a taxi back to the airport from the hotel 30 E. Dont even think of dragging luggage up the hill! The only tiny disappointment was the Flamenco no castanets and a lot of beef making a lot of noise.Granada wonderful.Best value open top bus in bus terminal just below hotel where ticket lasts 24 hours and you hop on and off starts around 10.30. Dont forget to ask for pensionista rates over 65 everywhere..

  • Liked — Quiet at night
  • Disliked — nothing.... clarinet player in next room left the next day.

Ideal location for visiting the Alhambra which is about 5 minutes walk away. Also very convenient for the rest of Granada, due to the Number 32 bus, costing 1 Euro, that runs regularly from the city centre past the hotel. A very attractive hotel with excellent facilities and an above average buffet selection.
Writing a positive review of a hotel is much harder than writing a negative one (See also our review of the Gran Hotel Lar in Seville.) It was a pleasure to stay here and we only wish we could have prolonged our visit. Staff were pleasant and helpful and we managed perfectly with our minimal Spanish!

  • Liked — It was all-round brilliant
  • Disliked — Some might find it too far from the city centre

For the price we paid this hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean and the buffet breakfast was very good. The main purpose of our 2 day trip to Granada was to visit the Alhambra. As we were driving, and also inexperienced to driving in Spain we wanted a hotel that was close to the Alhambra and also easy to get to. We couldn't beat this hotel for location, with a 5 minute walk to the Alhambra ticket office and main entrance. If was also easy to drive to. We came from the north on the A92 motorway and then on the A44 towards Granada. Once on the A44 the Alhambra is clearly sign posted. There is car parking available at the hotel but other reviews had mentioned that spaces are limited so we used the Alhambra car park, which is just opposite the hotel. If you do drive, don't forget to mention it at the hotel reception. They will give you a card to present to the car park ticket office when you leave, which gives you a discount on your parking, so you pay the equivalent of the hotel daily charge of 13.50 euros. From this location you can also pick up the hop-on-hop-off tour bus, which if your stay in Granada is short, gives you a good overview of the city.

If the hotel offers you the evening mini bus tour we highly recommend it. It includes a short guided walking tour in the albayzin quarter, followed by flamenco at a cave house.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so is very quite in the evenings, which if like us you have children is ideal. If you want a selection of bars and places to eat within easy walking distance, this hotel may not be right for you.

There is no smoking allowed in the main reception and bar area. Overall this hotel is of a very good standard suitable for all and excellent for visiting the Alhambra.
