For the price we paid this hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean and the buffet breakfast was very good. The main purpose of our 2 day trip to Granada was to visit the Alhambra. As we were driving, and also inexperienced to driving in Spain we wanted a hotel that was close to the Alhambra and also easy to get to. We couldn't beat this hotel for location, with a 5 minute walk to the Alhambra ticket office and main entrance. If was also easy to drive to. We came from the north on the A92 motorway and then on the A44 towards Granada. Once on the A44 the Alhambra is clearly sign posted. There is car parking available at the hotel but other reviews had mentioned that spaces are limited so we used the Alhambra car park, which is just opposite the hotel. If you do drive, don't forget to mention it at the hotel reception. They will give you a card to present to the car park ticket office when you leave, which gives you a discount on your parking, so you pay the equivalent of the hotel daily charge of 13.50 euros. From this location you can also pick up the hop-on-hop-off tour bus, which if your stay in Granada is short, gives you a good overview of the city.
If the hotel offers you the evening mini bus tour we highly recommend it. It includes a short guided walking tour in the albayzin quarter, followed by flamenco at a cave house.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so is very quite in the evenings, which if like us you have children is ideal. If you want a selection of bars and places to eat within easy walking distance, this hotel may not be right for you.
There is no smoking allowed in the main reception and bar area. Overall this hotel is of a very good standard suitable for all and excellent for visiting the Alhambra.
