Very happy with Alixares Hotel. Location magic for Alhambra being 150 metres away. Parking in basement at extra cost if space available. Check in staff excellent. Breakfast most adequate. 2 lovely Dinners in Dining room but note that we elected A la Carte at little extra cost & bypassed the Buffet which we think was a smart move. 200 metres to bus downtown at 1 Euro per trip compensated for distance from city only 15 mins away.If driving, highly recommended.

We were sent here after mixing up other reservations, and it was a wonder we got any room in Granada that weekend. Apparently, All Saints' Day weekend is very big for going to the Alhambra.
The room was beautiful, great view overlooking the pool and mountains. Pretty quiet, considering we were right next to the elevator.
The staff were able to get us tickets in a guided tour of the Alhambra, which sells out almost every morning. The hotel is within close walking distance to the Alhambra, and you can get teh bus into town there for just 1 euro. Taxi to the main bus station costs around 7 euros & well worth it when you have luggage!
For two days, bus after bus of tour groups came in. Reception/Concierge was flooded all the time. However, the staff always took time to answer your questions, help you with anything, and never stopped smiling. They never cracked under pressure. MAJOR bonus points for that. Really outstanding on that front.
The internet worked in the lobby, but not in my room. The breakfast was decent, but not spectacular. It would be nice if they sold stamps at the front desk, like many 4 star hotels.

Good service at check in and a nice pool. Rooms of average quality but not enough for a 4 star hotel. The barbacue resturant the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Quite expensive and servied us uncooked pork souvlakis. After two complaints we were served chicken instead. But when getting the bill the also charged for the raw pork we could'nt eat and asked us never to come back again. We will shurely not do that, and after such a treatment advise others to do likewise. Pity for a hotel that's othewise vaulue for money.

This is an excellent hotel for the money (£24 per night) ideally located opposite the main entrance of the Alhambra. All the reviews are pretty accurate,so some extra points to note. The hotel does have a fast turnover of 1 night guests on a general tour of Europe, avoid their meal times, or be prepared for hand to hand combat in the good value restaurant (10e).The fight for plates is historic !
Take taxis, forget buses , unless you are addicted to other people's armpits, a taxi for 2 back up the hill is approx 5e ( for 2??) chauffer driven Merc or smelly tourists mmm lets see.
As previously noted book the Alhambra, do not turn up and hope to get in, the queues are like at Disneyland ,pay the money get a guide and enjoy a lovely experience!
Finally, Granada is more tham a one trick pony and offers a relaxing break in a non too hectic city especially in the Spring..We shall return!

Great hotel, it's ideal for the Alhambra as it's right opposite! The room was nice, good aircon, breakfasts were ok and the swimming pool was lovelya nd much needed in the very hot weather! We walked into the city center, it's all down hill and a lovely walk but we got a taxi back up the hill each time as it was too hot to be waiting for a bus and was only 5euros!
