We chose the Hotel Guadalupe because of its proximity to the Alhambra and availability of parking and it was an excellent choice. The hotel is just down the hill from the Alhambra ticket office (reserve tickets well in advance!) which made it very convenient. It was also easy to find by car because you could follow the Alhambra signs in town. When you get to to the Alhambra parking lot, instead of going in the lot, go to the left and up the hill. There is temporary parking outside the hotel to unload the car and if you are lucky, you may find free parking further up on the street. If not, turn around and go back to the Alhambra parking lot - the hotel will give you a paper that will discount the parking when you leave. If you want to leave your valuables in a safe, they have individual safes by the front desk for a modest fee.
We had two double rooms. One had a view of the front of the hotel, but we didn't have a problem with noise. Unfortunatley, neither had a view of the Alhambra - we were on too low a floor. The beds were very firm which we like and the bathrooms were excellent. We had breakfast at the hotel and found the buffet breakfast a good value in a nice setting. While some people have said that the hotel was full of package tours, we didn't find that that bothered us.
The desk staff was very helpful with all of our questions. My husband and kids walked down to the city both evenings and found the walk quite doable - also , we had no issues with pickpockets despite the warnings.
