Beautiful hotel, located right next to the Alambra. Staying there was just as good (arguably more convienient) than staying in the Alambra itself. The hotel is very cheap for the location.

Beautiful hotel, located right next to the Alambra. Staying there was just as good (arguably more convienient) than staying in the Alambra itself. The hotel is very cheap for the location.
The only good thing to say about this hotel is it is in a great location for the Alhambra and the bus to town (which at 1 euro is dear, but worth using, espcially if it is hot) is close by. (To find it just follow signs to the carparks for the Alhambra.)
I don't know how it qualifies as three star though.
The bar is adequate as is the bar food, but you are still paying hotel bar prices.
The rooms are cramped and hot - the airconditioning was turned off at night - but it was so noisy that it was probably a relief. (Although at 32c at night it was very uncomfortable - and you couldn't leave the wondows open because of the genrator and the fields -we got badly bitten the night we tried.) It may be a hotel better used in spring or autumn when it isn't 40c+.
However, I guess for the location it it is cheap - we paid just under £100 for two nights - and the breakfast was OK. So if you want to see Granada - and especially the Alhambra - the Guadeloupe is fine for a bargain break. But it is no holiday treat.
This is definitely a keeper! We would stay here again! It is right next to the Alhambra, very close to the bus station in order to go to town (or a pleasent 10 minute walk). We did not try the restaurant, but did try the cafe/bar which was very good. The staff was helpful. The only draw back was the airconditioning--we had the family room, very large 2 rooms with a large bathroom for only 95 euros a night. The airconditioning was terrible, but I would stay here again!
A hotel so close to the Alhambra is ofcourse very special. We enjoyed it. The room, although, was not cleaned properly. We found hair in the bathroom and bedroom from former visitors. We had room 411. The sunscreens were old, and did not work very well. The view of the room was good, we could see all the buses arriving during the day.
It was a pleasure that we could park the car in front of the hotel on tthe Alhambra-parkingplace. For a reduced price.
Breakfast in this hotel was good. Lot's of variety, fruits, several juices, and well organized. The staff was helpfull, gentle and spoke English, which not everyone does in Spain.
The staff at the reception was polite, and offered also several arrangements. The citybus to Granada was als almost in front of the hotel. About 2 minutes walking.
The first room offered faced to the back wall so we rejected it and were then given a pleasant twin/double on the the 3rd floor with a view of the Alhambra. It is important not to take the first room offered if it proves unsatisfactory. Stipulate you want a front facing room. Decor was rustic and tasteful, not basic, and bathroom was good quality .Breakfast was excellent; plenty of cereal, yogurt, fruit, cheese, salami, bread and pastries+ bacon and egg(which we didn`t eat). Ask for coffee `con agua caliente` for a large coffee. The bus at 1Euro is good value to Plaza Nueva and you can stay on to the Albaicin if its a 32 and also transfer within 45 mins. Most restaurants start serving late by UK times but we had delicious food by 8,30 in Pilar de toro and Taberna Salinas both near P. Nueva. As tourists will spend their most of their time in the Alhambra, Albaicin and around P. Nueva this is a good short-break choice. There is a short cut walking path (for the well-shod) from the Alhambra bus stop to the Carro del Darro and the Albaicin.Walk up to the Mirador at St Nicholas for great view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada. The hotel offers free internet access.Wear comfy stout shoes to visit the Alhambra and Albaicin-many paths are rustically cobbled and quite rough .
