“ROOM 412. Hooray!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2009

On arrival were assigned to Room 412. When asked how did they know we are on our honeymoon, the very nice man at reception said "We knew". He has always time to chat to us and my wife even had one to one spanish language tutorial with him. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Granadinos..fantastic people!!
In the morning, if you roll out of bed, becareful you may fall into the Alhambra compound!! The walk downhill to town through the woods is wonderful, really set you going with a bit of exercise in the morning-or uphill on the way back -build your appetite for a good dinner at the restaurant.
The view from the room is wonderful..the sunset is like a Turner's painting! Who needs TV when the view is so good?l
Behind the hotel there is a walking path through the olive grove with a great view down the Granada valley & Sierra Nevada.
Food at the resturant is fantastic..try the Rabo del Toro! or the Veal steak.. Wow
Through the reception you can book tickets to see Flamenco & Albaicin night walk, tickets will be efficiently allocated in your room pigeonhole. (The people at the Alhambra Palace Hotel apparently couldn't manage to do this simple booking right!!)

I thought this was a very good 3 star hotel and very reasonably priced.
All staff were always helpful and friendly especially at the reception desk.
It was a pleasure to stay here. The hotel is directly across the road from the Alhambra ticket office and car parks. There is an excellent bus service throughout the day to downtown Granada.

Nicely appointed facility with comfortable, modern rooms and a friendly staff. Many tour busses stop here so the lobby is frequently very busy. It is at the Alhambra and somewhat detached from Granada that can be reached easily by bus. Driving in Granada is a nightmare because of narrow one way streets, lots of street construction. and streets are very poorly marked. A GPS in Granada (as in most Spanish cities) is absolutely a must.

We stayed three nights at the hotel and found it very enjoyable. Staff was very helpful and could speak good English if required. Room was adequate size, slightly larger then we found in other Spanish hotels. The bathroom though tight, had a great shower/jet tub. Which was enjoyable after all of the walking you'll do seeing the Alhambra and Granada. Restuarant had a very good breakfast and fare was standard for most hotels. Great location for visiting the Alhambra. Several minutes from the entrance. The bus stop that takes you into the city or to the Albacin is just a two minute walk downhill as well. If you're there for multiple days buy the multi-pass for the bus. Though you can walk down the hill to the town, walking up is for the young of heart (and legs) so you'll be using the bus and thankful for the location. We had a room that faced the Alhambra and view was quite nice. Relatively quiet, though most travelers stay for the Alhambra location so it is not a night scene noisy place. The bar on the first floor enjoys a good crowd and the bartenders are friendly and is a great experience. Parking is available at the Alhambra parking lot for a discount rate and is directly across the street from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wnating a location near the Alhambra. Loved our stay at Hotel Guadalupe, mainly because of the room given which had a huge terrace overlooking the Alhambra [the main reason to visit Granada]. When we visited 'downtown' were very glad to be staying near Alhambra, in fact chose to go back there to eat as restaurant better quality & value. There is a regular mini bus service which also took us into the old moorish quarter 'Albayzin' , so the location was very convenient, not only for visiting the Alhambra but also the rest of Granada. But it was the fabulous terrace [& room/bathroom] that made our stay here so enjoyable. Very reasonably priced too.

The location for visiting the Alhambra can't be better. Staff was very friendly and helpfull and the restaurant was outstanding! Going to the city center you walk down for 10 minutes. Walking back is a rather steep climb. However there is a minibus service (every 5 minutes) almost in front of the hotel.
