I stayed at the Guadalupe for 2 nights on a trip to Granada, mainly to see the Alhambra. For this the hotel is ideal, being located just across the road from the entrance. If your main business is in the town, you can catch a shuttle bus into Plaza Nueva which takes 5 mins and costs €1. I wouldn't recommend walking the incline to the hotel unless you enjoy a hike.
The hotel itself seemed average, however we were directed to a room in another part of the builing - the 'Residence Guadalupe'. This was a few doors up and we were told it was new. The room was compact but clean and quite pleasant, although we had a view of a red tin roof. It should be noted that the rooms do not come equipped with irons and you cannot get one, so bring a travel iron if you don't want to have to steam your clothes in the shower!
The bathroom was clean and bright, decorated with pretty tiles and the shower pressure was excellent (perfect for steaming out the creases!)
Breakfast was what I would expect from a hotel of this rating, the usual selection of meats, breads and fruit. It was nothing special but definately sets you up for the day and the staff service was average (no complaints).
For visiting the Alhambra the hotel is in a great spot. The buses into town run every few minutes from early morning (around 7am) until around 11.30pm so you shouldn't have a problem getting into town either, although if you have a few days planned in Granada away from the Alhambra I would recommend staying in the town.
