GOOD POINTS:
1. Excellent location for the Alhambra - the entrance is about 2 min walk downhill.
2. Very helpful staff
3. Rooms are clean and well furnished
BAD POINTS:
1. The walls were quite thin, so toilet flushing by us and the next room is torture to the ears.
2. Not much activity at the top of the hill, and you will have to go to town for food / shopping.
3. Due to the location on the top of the hill, a taxi is relatively expensive to the airport, about 25-27 euros.
OTHER INFO:
I booked a room on the 4th floor, which has the larger and more expensive rooms, after reading the recommendations for room 412. Unfortunately 412 and 407 (the rooms with large balconies) were taken and we got room 408, which was large and well equipped but only had a small ledge. This room had two single beds, although I specifically requested for a double.
I booked straight through them (+34958223423 or ---) and paid 69 euros per night. Breakfast was not included. Hotel staff were very efficient and helped us book the Alhambra tickets. Note that you have to pay a 10% charge (1 euro per ticket) to them for booking it, which they didn't mention. You then have to redeem this booking slip at the Alhambra to get the actual ticket.
There are a few restaurants in the area but none were open for dinner, so we ate at the hotel restaurant. The food was alright, nothing spectacular for the 3 course set dinner which cost about 15 euros.
Overall it was great except for the loud toilet flushing mentioned above. I would recommend a hotel in town since there is so much more shopping, eating and walking to do there. Although the Alhambra is uphill, you can take a bus there for 1 euro each way.
BTW there is an airport shuttle bus service from town which costs about 4 euros per pax. Much cheaper than the taxi!
