“Location Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

As others have said location next to the Alhambra is a big plus and for those driving having parking readily available (at a price) is very important. Furnishings of our room were looking quite dated, however the bathroom was quite nice. The room was cleaned very well. Staff were quite professional and helpful.
Summary: clean, safe, good service in a good location.(bus service to downtown worked quite qwell for us.) For the price a good option for seeing the Alhambra.

We were two couples staying in the Suite. It was spacious, comfortable and modern. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Be warned that the walk up the hill from downtown is steep and maybe not be suitable for some people. But if you enjoy a good walk after dinner, I would not consider the location a negative. Anyways, there is a bus that goes up the hill. The hotel's surroundings are quiet and relaxing.

Room Tip: The Suite was spacious and comfortable for two couples.

I have just stayed 2 nights at this hotel and would recommend it to any one who wants a hotel next to the Alhambra. The staff were very helpful and the food was good. Parking was a bit of a pain but you do get discount in the Alhambra car park. The center of Granada is a short bus ride away and if you get a taxi back up from the centre it was only a couple of euros dearer than the bus.
The only down side to the hotel is that they have an annex with rooms 50 meters along the street from the main hotel and these rooms are smaller than those in the hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure you stay in the main Hotel Building

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and we had a magnificent view from our balcony across to the grounds of the Alhambra, and a view of our car parked in P1! The hotel has an arrangement for cheap parking. The bar has an attentive staff, and serves some good food. The receptionist spoke excellent English, and was most anxious to give every possible assistance.

If you are going to Granada only to see the Alhambra, this hotel should be on top of your list. It is right next to the Generalife entrance and the parking is right opposite, so it suited us the best since we came by car. The hotel is on top of the hill, same as the Alhambra.

It is a 10-15 minute walk downhill to reach the city. This doesnt seems like much but after a long day of walking in the city, the journey is quite an uphill task..literally!! There are frequent special bus service though which cost 1.2 Euros one way!

The rooms can be a bit noisy (depending on your neighbour) but the beds are large and very comfortable. The restaurant of the hotel is a bit pricy and you dont have many options to eat around as all the restaurants shut at night, so either you eat downhill in the city, or pay a 15-25 Euros per head at the hotel restaurant!

We had only little time for Granada, so we were looking for a Hotel close to the Alhambra. The Guadalupe has great offers out-of season (half price). The rooms are very spacious, quiet, clean and elegant. the breakfast was a bit disappointing at a price of 10 Euros (buffet almost gone when we tried have breakfast at 08-30h and the selection wasnt great. So I would recommend go down the road into a cafe to have a light breakfast for 1/3 of the cash. In summary excellent Hotel 5 min walk from main entrance of Alhambra. Car Park discount on Alhambra parking - still 15EUR overnight out of season - might be higher in season.

My wife and I spent a two-night stay at this hotel in March 2013. All-in-all it was excellent with clean spacious rooms, comfortable beds and good facilities. The bathroom was very pleasant but our bath did not have a plug so only showers were possible. The hotel had a decent bar, cafeteria and restaurant where the breakfast buffet was very good. We travelled with a large group who overwhelmed the restaurant in the evening resulting in dinner taking around three hours. Shortage of staff seemed to be a problem. Nearby cafes were useful at lunchtime but closed early in the evenings. The hotel location is excellent for visiting the Alhambra just a short walk away but is a bus ride away from the city centre.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear if you do not want to be disturbed at night by people talking loudly on t...
