The hotel faces the street and freeway so if you want a quiet room then ask for one with a window facing the interior courtyard. This may mean that the room is darker, but at least it isn't noisy.

The room and bathroom are well maintained and clean. The hotel is located somewhat centrally to downtown Granada. It is also close to shopping centers (El Cortes Ingles is on the ground floor and across the street).

  • Liked — very clean bathroom
  • Disliked — very firm mattress
  • Tips/Secrets: — ask for a room facing the courtyard if you're looking for quietness

I stayed at this hotel in late June 2006 for a mid week break.

This is a recently built hotel. There is a department store forming part of the hotel block. There is also a hypermarket opposite the hotel as well as numerous shops, restaurants and banks nearby.

I was part of relatively large party. During our time they had several large groups staying here ranging from Singapore to students from the USA. The hotel managed to cope well.

The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel pool was nice but slightly small.

The rooms were of a good standard, an sufficiently spacious. I felt the air conditioning in my room was not so powerful.

The hotel is located near the highway exit, and is about 10 minutes walk from the shopping area and about 20 minutes walk away from the Arab area. There are taxi stands and a bus stop nearby.

There is a buffet breakfast in the morning. You get a selection that ranges from fruits, sausages, eggs to cereals. I have to stay it was rather awful. The croissants for example were hard and tasted salty. We had lunch at the hotel on the day of arrival and again the chips tasted salty as well.

Overall this is a good hotel, but it needs to improve the quality of the food.

went to granada for 5 days. original booking was for luna arabial hotel however we got upgraded to luna granada as other side was fully booked. arabial is the 3 star side. rooms were very spacious altho air cond wasnt that good especially as temperatures reached 107 degrees while we were there. got bus from airport but ours was last drop.
we went bed n breakfast, food was lovely. breakfast consisted of cereals, bacon, sausage, eggs, cheese, ham, fresh fruit etc.
main street is close to hotel to get a bus into town centre and bus station where we got bus to malaga one day and almeria another.
only downside was no beaches hence trips to above.
alhambra palace is worth a visit but go early as queues are horrendous.

I stayed at the Gran Luna in July for a conference. The location was pretty bad considering how much you pay for it. The only thing within walking distance is a K-mart style department store. The rooms were standard but bad for business travelers hoping to use laptops, etc. The reception staff was horrible and unwilling to help. There are many tour groups that stay here, so you will be competing for attention. The restaurant buffet breakfast was disgusting, and the dining room messy and dusty. At night, hordes of teenagers would gather across the street and play loud music, and race their cars around the surrounding streets, so between that and the highway noise, good luck getting a good night's sleep. Better off staying in the Albaicin, city center, or if attending a convention, stay at the Hotel Saray.

We found this through the Octopus website. The hotel was £47 per double room per night and our expectations were low. In fact, the hotel was clean comfortable and with all the amenities you might expect from a 4 star hotel (including a swimming pool with towels provided). I am unsure as to whether the previous reviewer was unlucky in his choice of room or whether there has been a re-fit ince then but the rooms were clean, everything worked and we had no complaints. Even the included breakfast was varied and edible.
The hotel is a little way from the centre (about a 10 minute walk but no joke in the summer heat) but there is a huge El Corte ingles next door for shoppers and the public transport connections are good. Finally, it is extremely easy to get to by either car or air, being jus off the ring road.
The only negative point I would make is that it is used a lot by tour groups and the service is reasoanble but soulless
