We found this Hotel to be nothing like some of the negative reviews that have been logged. The Hotel was clean, tidy, and in a central position for all the city attractions . The room was up to four star standard ( Based on staying in many hotels across the world ). Friendly staff, and very good service. Roof terrace affords great views of the city. Will return again !!!!!

This hotel is certainly not worth its 4 star rating -- a tired, old hotel and kinda creepy. Everything costs extra -- security box and Wi-Fi. The Web site described a jazz bar which wasn't open and also described the beautiful terrace that also wasn't open.

I moved to the Hotel Christina and was much happier. Also checked out Hotel Los Tiles, but they were full -- situated on a beautiful plaza. Both offer WiFI.

This hotel was a dissapointment from the moment we set foot in the lobby. First you feel like you've been transported to Miami Beach in the 1960's. Faded fabrics, ugly chandeliers and the musty smell that lingers wherever you go! The rooms are even more horrible! The extra hard beds and fraying bedcovers were enough for me to tell my children to sleep in their clothes and never walk barefoot in the room. We stayed that one sleepless night and checked out first thing in the morning. This is most definitely not a 4 star property, I'd give it a 1 or 2!!!

We stayed at the hotel as part of an organized tour. On our return home we looked up the web site so that we could make what we considered was a fair judgment rather than a couple of grumpy old travelers having a go.
Hotel Carmen is supposed to be a four star hotel, I think they must have a different rating system in Spain. The hotel is well positioned and the restaurants and food not too bad for what it is. Room was basic, more like two stars not four. I would not recommend you to stay at this hotel. VERY BASIC for four stars.
