This hotel is in the PERFECT location for seeing Granada. We never had to take a taxi anywhere - everything is a 5-15 minute walk. We did take the bus up to the Alhambra, but you could walk if you didn't mind walking up that big hill.
The hotel itself was easy to deal with, we called the 800# from the US to book and we had no problems at check-in or check-out. The rooms are fine, clean, not especially big by US standards, but better than average for a European city. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. Drinks and food at the hotel bar are overpriced, but you can just walk out the door to the many tapas bars in the city and get inexpensive drinks and free tapas!
This hotel may not be the prettiest or most "authentic" but as far as location and price it can't be beat. Plus, in Granada you'll spend so little time in your hotel you just want a convenient place to sleep.
As a side note, I would NOT stay in the Albaicyn district! It is not especially convenient and I would not feel safe walking there late at night. It's great to visit during the day, but the majority of what you'll want to see and do in Granada is in the center (right near the Melia).
