This hotel is in the PERFECT location for seeing Granada. We never had to take a taxi anywhere - everything is a 5-15 minute walk. We did take the bus up to the Alhambra, but you could walk if you didn't mind walking up that big hill.

The hotel itself was easy to deal with, we called the 800# from the US to book and we had no problems at check-in or check-out. The rooms are fine, clean, not especially big by US standards, but better than average for a European city. Breakfast was included and was pretty good. Drinks and food at the hotel bar are overpriced, but you can just walk out the door to the many tapas bars in the city and get inexpensive drinks and free tapas!

This hotel may not be the prettiest or most "authentic" but as far as location and price it can't be beat. Plus, in Granada you'll spend so little time in your hotel you just want a convenient place to sleep.

As a side note, I would NOT stay in the Albaicyn district! It is not especially convenient and I would not feel safe walking there late at night. It's great to visit during the day, but the majority of what you'll want to see and do in Granada is in the center (right near the Melia).

The major reason to book this hotel is its prime location. It's less than a ten-minute walk to the Plaza Nueva, where you can pick up the Alhambra bus up the hill to see the palace. It's really the best reason to stay here. But be warned. Be sure to request an exterior room, one that faces the street. If your room faces the open glass elevator bank, you'll hear the elevator doors opening and closing, and the sound of the brakes, etc. If you have low-tolerance for this sort of noise, be careful. Also, these rooms have windows but lack fresh air.

Granada is an incredible city, but I would not stay in this hotel unless you get a very good deal (as we did)

Had to wait for 1 1/2 hours after checkin time for a room as we had asked for non smoking, we could have had a smoking room but non smokers had to wait!???

Also the walls of the room were dirty (heavily stained), would have certainly have asked for another room if we were staying more than 2 nights.

It was also quite noisy from 2am to 5am when the Spanish come out to party.

Good points? The location was pretty much ideal for everything though a little walk for the Alhambra. Thats about it I'm afraid.

This hotel was very simple, nothing special. Definitely it was not something to write home about. Just a roof over your head while you are in Granada. The location was OK -- close to city buses and some tourist attractions. Their garage is horrible. The spaces are small and so close together. Our rental car was pretty big, so getting out of there was a nightmare.

This hotel is very well located in central Granada - minutes from the central shopping area. A taxi to the Alhamabra cost no more than £3 sterling. It is a comfortable but undistinguished hotel. It claims to be 4 star but it had no facilities such as gym/sauna/swimming pool. Breakfast was a run of the mill buffet. The restaurant was dreadful. However the reception staff were fantastic. During our stay my wife tore a ligament in her ankle- and they were helpful to an extreme - an English doctor arrived within 10 minutes of requesting one.
We booked through Otel.com and had an excellent deal. Essentially a no frills 3 star with no character but functional

  • Liked — Central location
  • Disliked — The diabolical restaurant
  • Tips/Secrets: — Granada is much colder than other centres in Andalucia
