Coach from aiport to central Granada great and costs 3 euro's each unlike taxi which costs approx 20 euro's. Takes 20 mins. Arrived at Melia Hotel, Granada. Room was a good size and very clean. Bathroom was a little dissappointing and appeared as though it needed updating. Although the usuall toiletries were available.
Our view was of a brick wall however, we didn't mind this as the time spent in the room was to rest or sleep.
Aircon was a nuisance. Room was far too hot. The only way to regulate room temp was to turn it off and open window which did get a bit chilly during the night. We should have contacted reception but didn't so shouldn't moan too much.
Read reviews of hotel hence choosing to stay here and reviews suggest great breakfast. We would disagree. If you enjoy undercooked fried eggs and bacon stips, cold mushrooms (still in process of defrosting) plus a wide choice of spanish blood sausages together with tinned fruits rather than fresh then you may enjoy it. However, saying all this, overall it wasn't by any means bad. The waitresses seemed very pleasant and helfull especially with our 11 month old baby. The highchair was clean and were very accommodating regarding boiled water for baby's bottles.
The hotel is in a great location in the midst of it all and within reasonable walking distance to all attractions.
Public transport is very good and makes it easy to get around. The small buses cost very little therefore if short on a few penny's there's no need to use the sightseeing bus.
As we had a baby our choice of restaurants was restricted. All cafe's, bars and restaurants allowed smoking. Unfortunately we resorted to takeaways during all 3 nights because of this. In the day it's not so bad as you are able to sit outside but it was a little cold at this time of year.
Overall, the hotel was reasonable. Good for the money. May stay there again if decided to go to Granada.
