We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Granada and it was the perfect gateway to the sights and restaurants of Granada. Getting there was easy-we did not want the hassle of a hired car so we took the bus(dead cheap)outside Malaga airport to the bus station and a bus (luxury coach) to Granada and taxi straight to the hotel.
The room we were given did not have a view(concrete wall)but then not all rooms can have a view and as it was comfortable we went through the first night. However the staff were ever so accommodating the next day that they offered us a selection of rooms to move to. We selected one with a view of the Alhambra in the faraway distance. Below us we looked into a square which led us us to a very good choice of restaurants.
We had breakfast in the open air sitting outside cafes - lovely cofee and toast while watching the world go by slowly.
We did walk the rather steep climb to the Alhambra only to find an endless queue for tickets which we did not quite fancy joining. The next day we went back early by bus and this time got our tickets easily; we had a most wonderful day wandering in awe at the stunnningly beautiful palace and the equally inspiring gardens.
Room service was excellent and we did have our fair share of cups of tea and cofee as well as a delicious helping of cured ham on toast!
Th added bonus was the free internet service in the bedroom with my laptop. The hotel kindly provided an adaptor and cable.
The bar/coffee lounge was our favourite stop for a cofee or beer.
From the hotel all the restaurants and sights were within a short walk so it was really convenient. The room was very comfortable and the decor was pleasant.
A special mention must go to Miguel Sanchez who was always at hand to help make our stay perfect and we would definitely visit again!
