We (couple and baby) stayed at the Melia Granada for 3 days in November 2004, and were very impressed. In Europe this must be considered a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was splendid, with a lot of choice. Good location, on a chic shopping street. Staff friendly and eager to help. We did find the street noise a problem at night, but I suppose we could have asked for a room away from the street. Currently renovation in front of the building spoils the view, hopefully this will be solved soon. Exellent value for money. Their corporate site ---guarantees best prices.

Staying at the Melia Granada was a wonderful experience. We were there for two nights in late October '04. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and clean. My only complaint was that the walls were a bit thin. We could hear voices (and a hair dryer) from the adjacent room, but it was not so bad as to affect our comfort. Of course, this may have been due to where our room was located. The staff was extremely helpful, and the hotel's location could not have been better for what we went to Granada to see (the Alhambra, the cathedral, ...). My only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer.

We visit Spain regularly and decided to spend a few days in Granada. We booked two rooms (as we have two children) direct with sol melia and got an excellent deal - a weekend rate for a midweek stay and 50% off the second room. When we arrived the rooms were not only excellent, but were linked. We have stayed in other hotels at high prices and requested adjoining rooms and been located at opposite ends of the hotel. We didn't even ask for adjoining rooms in this case! The location was perfect - the Cathedral was just round the corner, the Alhambra looked a long way on the map but was easy walking distance.Bar service was good, reception were extremely helpful (organising a flamenco trip for us) and the valet parking was very convenient. My 12 year old son has decreed that we must always stay in Melia hotels henceforth.
