The outlook of the hotel isn't half as impressive as the lobby. You walk in and its this majestic feeling. We loved, loved, loved the Alhambra-esque decor. The pool and the surrounding area is absolutely charming. We had two rooms, one faced the pool while the other faced another building (boo!). But we only used to room to sleep-in, so it was rather alright. We sometimes walked to the the central part of the city, even once at night around 12am, and it was absolutely fine. The breakfast they serve for €3 is fantastic. We used to look forward to that part of the meal daily!!!! Granada has such a great feel to it. I loved the city and this hotel was certainly playing the part in the grandeur experience.

My husband, 11 and 13 year old and Spanish friend stayed one night so that we could go to the Alhambra. The hotel gave us an early checkin, had lovely rooms and gave us a late checkout (to 8PM!) the next day for 30 Euros. The double room was 60 Euros, and the triple was 80. The pool was lovely, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Town was about a 15 minute walk. Don't get the breakfast for 10 Euros; it is a generous continental, but it is a continental cold breakfast.
The people could not have been nicer or more helpful.

We stayed four nights while exploring Granada and Alhambra.

PROS: Excellent location halfway in between the city center and Alhambra. Taxi costs about Euro 5 either way. Several bus stops next to the hotel, public transport in Granada is excellent and user-friendly. Supermarket 'Mercadona" is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, "El Corte Ingles" is about 20 minutes walk away or an easy ride on the bus. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with excellent bath facilities and LCD TV. AC and safe in the room. Small, but nice pool area. Full breakfast from 7 to 10 AM at Euro 10 per person. Also, limited breakfast available after 10 AM at the bar for Euro 3 or Euro 5 per person.

CONS: The hotel website is not user-friendly, better use other booking sites. No queen or king beds even in the double rooms; all beds are twin beds pulled together. WiFi Internet is not free.

We stayed at the Hotel Saray for two nights with two small children (2 and 6 years old). We used to hotel to visit the Alhambra (get your tickets via the Internet in advance) and downtown Granada. The hotel is located somewhat away from the central downtown of Granada and has newly furnished rooms in a modern style. It has a nice entrance, glass elevators, and a large pool.

Getting to the hotel was relatively straightforward, following the in-car GPS. The hotel does have parking for an extra fee but we opted to find free street parking. It is not plentiful but is possible to find if you circle around a few times. It is about a twenty minute walk to the usual tourist sites of downtown Granada. Don't bother trying to drive there from the hotel- it will take at least that long just to navigate the streets, get in to a parking garage, and find parking (not to mention the cost of the parking garage).

We booked a triple room. The room was of good size with plenty of extra space for the extra bed. The amenities were all of the quality that one would expect in this caliber hotel.

Our room did not include breakfast - we opted to buy some food at the nearby market. There are several restaurants within walking distances, notably Raices a very nice vegetarian restaurant. There is also a fabulous ice cream shop near Av Pablo Picasso. Forgot the name but they had very nice homemade tasting ice cream and large cones. They also had a variety of ice cream sundays.

The pool in the hotel really matches the pictures. The water is not incredibly warm (even in July) but it is refreshing. At its shallowest the pool is about 1 meter deep, making it not as suitable for kids as I would have liked. There was a bar next to the pool where you could get drinks and some snacks, though the bar closed a bit early. We had no problems getting towels or a chair.

Internet is free but be sure to get the WiFi (pronounced WeeFee here) password when you check in to avoid the line.

There were only a few minor issues with the hotel. The checkin was painfully slow. The staff seemed friendly but were taking their time. There was no help with luggage either when we arrived nor when we departed. The hallways smell a little damp but the room was clean. The rooms could use a little more shelf storage to put things out of reach of a grabby two year old.

Overall our visit was quite good. The hotel provided a high quality stay and a good value. I definitely recommend the Saray Hotel.

Brilliant hotel with fantastic rooms and service. We stayed for 5 nights and found that this was the perfect base for our visit. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a huge bed. We are non smokers, we requested a non smoking room and thats exactly what we got. The rooms also have free wifi.
Not being in the city centre was perfect as the hotel was quiet when we wanted to sleep but town was only a ten minute walk. It is also right by the last stop of the airport bus which is a bargin at 3 euros.
We would stay there again in a hearbeat and recommend it to anyone.
