Our room was far better than anticipated and cost just £55 per night without breakfast. It was modern and clean and well appointed. Good air con.
The hotel is really only ten minutes walk to the centre of town and far better than staying in the noisy town centre. It is also very near to the buses, so handy for day trips and a bus to the airport.
The pool area is nice although there are at times not enough loungers to go round and the pools are bit on the small side. There were quite a few large sized people around too.
There is a kiosk selling a limited number of drinks staffed by a moany old man and it is very basic. This should be a way of the hotel making good money by providing a good choice and a good service but not here. The bar area inside the hotel is very depressing, so no stopping there for a drink before you go out. The hotel is not in to making money. We tried to call room service but the number in the booklet was wrong and then the main desk gave us the wrong number too. No money there for the hotel.
The reception staff let us down, they failed to book a show for us, and failed to make the internet work in the room and basically did not understand English well enough to advise anything much. They tended to ignore you when you stood there even though you were the only ones there. I think they bascially did not like people even though it is a people job. The breakfast was ok and the staff there were very good - as were the cleaning staff.
So, as long as you are prepared for little service, then the rooms really are very good and are well worth the price.

Modern hotel situated in a residential area off the main tourist area. If you are taking the airport bus, get off at the last stop (Palace Congresso or something like that), and hotel is just 2 min walk up the street.

It is a 10 min walk to the edge of the main tourist area, 20 min walk to the centre of the tourist area eg. Cathedral, 30-40 min walk to Alhamabra (remember the upslope battle though!).

Supermarket is 5min walk away - just ask the staff how to get there. Cafeteria selling burgers and such are just around the corner. Few restaurants next to Palace Congresso - also within 5 min of hotel. One pizzaria (name escapes me for now) along that main street sells really tasty pizza and pasta in good size serves at reasonable price, and even make to order your flavour. But hey! This review is about the hotel.

You'll need a taxi if you want to go to the bus terminal (only 1 in Granada for now) - it's on other side of town, and costs 7-8 Euros.

I booked this hotel through its own website to save booking fees. It sometimes offers the similar base rates as many other agent websites.

This hotel is undoubtedly very clean and well apointed however sadly the surly and unhelpful attituide of it's reception staff let it down. Although not right in the centre of town it is only two minutes from the edge of the central area at San Anton and there are a number of buses that stop very near by - the number 8 bus literally stops on the hotel door step. The hotel itself does little to engage it's guests and certainly could not be described as a 'holiday' hotel - we got the impression that it was more geared to catering for delegates at the adjacent Congress Centre. Rooms are decorated in a a 'modern' style which some might like but some will loathe. The pool , although availble for use when we there in late May, does not open unitl June 15th so don't expect any poolside drinks service before this date! Most annoying though was the attitude of the reception staff who seemed largely disinterested in guests and any questions were met with reluctant and sometimes wrong answers. Most surprisingly was their inabilty to give correct information as to the best way to get to the Alhambra Palace which is the main reason that most guests go to Granada! Overall a good hotel in terms of cleanliness and location but so far off the mark when it comes to customer service.

Many reviews of this hotel said the same thing. The rooms are too hot !!!!!!!!! Can't sleep comfortably. The temperature is centrally controlled. (As in most hotels in Spain etc.). The control unit in your room lets you set your own desired temperature, but its just for show!!
This hotel in particular, no matter what we did, the a/c kept blowing warm air into the room. I complained to front desk twice and was told to "open a window"... Which I did and it opened 3-4 inches at the top. No help!! I couldn't sleep and got up at 2 am to go out for a smoke and to cool off. Went outside and found myself locked out. They "closed" at midnite. Lucky I had my room card(key) with me.

The hotel staff did not care that the room is too hot. They were not helpful and could hardly speak english. And the pool area was also "closed" In fact the pool doesn't open til mid June!!
Very fancy hotel - but I would rather have comfort and be able to sleep. I did not like this hotel .

I complained about the A/C at another hotel and they took care of it. The front desk can control the temp. of each room - evidently. Others on our tour said the same thing about being too hot.

ps. Learn how to work the room card they give you. Its tricky. The lights and A/C both work with it in the slot. Pull it out and you are in the dark with no air. (Get an extra)

Moorish Paradise, Las Vegas style

No, there is no casino in the hotel, but the Moorish style decoration we saw everywhere in the public areas and in the courtyard reminded us of some of the themed resorts in Las Vegas. You will find coffered ceilings, marble fountains and arabesque stucco works, all of them inspired by the famous Nashrid palaces. You can even sit down next to (a copy of) the fountain of the Generalife gardens in the courtyard. Is it nice? Yes, it is. Does it feel strange to come back to it after visiting the original less than 30 minutes walk away? Just a bit…

The rooms, in contrast, have modern, black furnishing with simple, strait lines. There are huge mirrors on the walls and a slick LCD television. The bathroom is spotless, all marble and chrome. It all feels brand new and luxurious. We were altogether very satisfied with our room.

We selected this hotel primarily based on its location. Arriving by car, it is reasonably easy to reach from the expressway and there is underground parking (costs extra). We left the car behind and walked or took occasional taxis rides. I agree with the previous reviewers that there are better located hotels for walking to the main tourist attractions. However, depending on your age, you may want to think about whether you want to climb up the steep hill to the Alhambra.

We found out to our great surprise, that in most Spanish hotels we stayed in, the temperature in the guest rooms is centrally controlled. What is really weird about this is that the control unit in your room may allow you to set your own desired temperature, but this has no effect whatsoever. In one hotel in particular, no matter what we did, the unit just kept blowing hot air into the room (we ended up switching it off and opening the windows). Many of us find these rooms too hot, just like many Europeans find the air conditioned spaces in North America too cold. Air conditioning is still a bit of a luxury in Europe and most homes and many public spaces don't have it. People are not used to it to the extent that we are and they seem to tolerate warm better than cold. I guess the lesson to take away from all this is that unless the room is really hot, like 25 C or more, the unit is probably not broken and the hotel staff will have little sympathy when we make a fuss about it.
