We booked this hotel based on other reviews on this site, and were slightly disappointed, although mainly by the room we were given than the hotel in general. The location couldn't have been better - opposite the Alhambra Hill (yes next to the bus stop but the walk up the hill only takes around 20mins and is worth it if you can as long as it's not too hot!), 10 mins walk to the Albaicin (uphill again - you will definately get fit on a trip to Granada!), next to tapas bars, and 5 mins from the Cathedral and shops. The staff on reception were really friendly, especially the guy who was there in the evenings. Breakfast was average although there was lots of it!
Our only problem was the room. We were in room 401, which overlooked the Plaza Nueva and was next to the lift. It was clean and comfortable, with a new bathroom and tv, but the noise during the night was occasionally unbearable. We had kids playing football outside until 2am on a couple of occasions, and he local clock tower bell rings on the hour every hour through the night. I'm a really heavy sleeper who can fall asleep anywhere, but I struggled to sleep through the bell, seing in 3am, 4am, 5am....... and when other guests started using the lift to get down to breakfast it sounded like they were actually in our room! The plus side of all of this was that we did have a balcony over the Plaza Nueva which was fantastic during the day, and was the main reason we didn't move rooms (my boyfriend thought it was worth putting up with my tired moaning for the great view!)
So, all in all an ok hotel, especially for a 2 star, and we would probably stay there again, but unless you don't mind a bit of noise, ask for a room away from the front of the hotel.
