Granada - Hotel Macia Plaza ( 75 euros/night) 2 nights - Great location , right on Plaza Nuevo with taxis & the Alhambra buses right out the front door. Much nicer than the Picasso in Seville - a really nice full bathroom, including a bidet - a bit of a lower level Holiday Inn . We got the 3rd floor again, but this time there was an elevator. We didn't get a view ( our window basically was an interior hole / column for the air conditioners) but that was ok . The young lady working the desk in the evenings was extremely friendly & helpful.

This hotel was a treat for us after 1 week in Spain. This was the nicest place we stayed and we got the best price of any of our hotels in Spain after booking with Expedia. The room was very clean and not bad on the size either. There was a breakfast buffet in the morning in the basement for only 5.50 Euro. It was more like a very good continental breakfast that you'd be used to in North America, but was a nice change after a week of Spanish omlettes. They also have a next day laundry service. The staff was very friendly and had no problem talking to us in English even though my wife speaks a bit of Spanish. The location is right where you'd want to be if you were interested in the Alhambra as well as shopping and pubs at night. Great place.

Just spent 3 days at the hotel - nice clean room overlooking plaza. Nice staff ( good English as well ), location is brilliant right in the heart of things - Alhambra bus leaves from across the square - though walk is nice as well.
No parking on site - nearest parking is by the Cathedral - off the Via De Colon - about 5 minute walk to the hotel. Don't try to drive to the hotel.

This hotel is right on Plaza Nueva. You can see the Alhambra from the hotel and you can walk to the old Arab section. You can also walk to the Cathedral and a nice busniess district with resturants and stores. The bus to the Alhambra is across the street from the plaza. The front desk was very helpful with making arrangements and they spoke English. Our room the first night overlooked the plaza and you could see the Alhambra from our balcony. The major problem is that it was a Friday and the noise from the street was awful. It wasn't cars it was young people walking home from night clubs. They were very loud and would stop in the plaza to talk. We were awaken about 1:30 and it didn't get quite enough to fall back to sleep until 5:30 in the morning. I called the front desk and even went down to the front desk to complain (I was nice about it....no ugly American scene). He was very sympathetic but as the hotel was full he could not change our room. In the morning the asst. manager told us she had available rooms for Saturday and that they would move us and also offered to comp us on our breakfast. The new room faced an inclosed courtyard and was so quite we sleep like babies that evening. You will like this hotel as long as you are able to stay away from the front of the hotel on a weekend night. The location can't be beat.
