The location of Pension Britz is absolutely great. In Plaza Santa Ana, next to the road to La Alhambra and surrounded by loads of bars where having fun and 'tapas'. It's so centric that it's almost impossible to use the car here, so if you arrive by car park it out of the city center. You won't need it.

Being in such a lively area makes noise a problem during night, but I was able to sleep pretty well. The advantage is that you have lots of things to do close to your hostel. Please avoid usual restaurants or fast food while staying in Granada. Follow the locals' culture and have dinner/lunch ordering drinks in one of the hundreds tapa-bars. For €1.5-2€, you will get a beer and a tapa, with the size and quality depending of the bar. I got full with the third tapa, so it's a cheap way to eat. The best I have been to was maybe La Antigualla (Elvira St.) but there are lots of good ones.

The staff was really friendly. They had a problem with our reservation (they gave us a room that wasn't empty) but they solved it upgrading us to a better room. It was better than several 3 or 4-starred hotels and views to the square were really nice. Bathroom was a bit small though.

Quality-price ratio was really good. I think we paid €46 for our room, which is a great deal.

I would recommend it to anybody interested in getting the most of Granada.

The hotel is clean, centrally located, and well priced. The only problem for us was that our room faced a very loud street, forcing us to keep the windows closed as we slept in our hot stuffy room.

Stayed for two nights in April 2008. I had booked three rooms in total, two singles and a double. All rooms were were furnished simply and in an old fashioned style and were spotless. Beds were comfy enough. Arrived late afternoon and had no problems checking in with the friendly multilingual staff.

Car parking is a problem in Granada, around 20 Euros per day, however we found a car park not too far away.

Location wise the hotel sits overlooking one of the main squares in Granada and is within walking distance of the Alhambra and Albaicin.

Although the hotel itself does not do food there are loads of places on the square and around where you can eat according to what your budget dictates.

All in all, a fairly basic but pleasant place to lay your head for a couple of nights, and excellent value for money.

I stayed 3 nights there in Easter 2007. Very reasonable price (half the price I paid for other hostals I stayed at in the south of Spain in the same trip). I have a room with a balcony facing a plaza, where I sat and watched some holy week procession. The location is excellent. My room does not have a bathroom or tiolet but the shared ones are clean. The room itself is very spacious and the furnishings are reasonably nice. It can get quite noisy (but not any nosier than other hostals),I slept well with the help of my earplugs. Staff very helpful and friendly. It's much better than other hostals (double the price of Pension Britz) that I stayed in during the trip on all fronts!!!

Stayed here for 4 nights in Apr 06, and found it reasonably comfortable, with clean spacious rooms with a very clean ensuite, and it was very reasonably priced. The noise from outside was quite loud at night, and our first night, which happened to be Saturday night, the noise did continue till about 3:30am. After purchasing ear plugs, it was fine! The noise is only due to it being in such a good location on the plaza. I would recommend this place to anyone on a budget and if you sleep heavily!
