We spent 4 lovely days in Granada at the Best Western Dauro 11 hotel. Our bedroom was clean and spacious with a newly fitted bathroom. The breakfasts were very good with excellent buffet style fare.

The hotel is handily situated at the end of Navas, a street containing many tapas bars and restaurants, so there is no need to go hungry or thirsty. Although this is a busy street our room overlooked a side street but there was little noise from the street, even though it was festival time in Granada. The only noise in the bedroom was from the lift (our room being next to it) but this was of little consequence.
It is not an easy hotel to find however. If you are travelling on the airport shuttle bus get off at the DARRO stop, cross the road towards the hotel Dauro (sister hotel to Dauro11)turn left and walk towards a fountain(passing a large store) just before the fountain turn right, cross a couple of roads and head past the Chikito restaurant, walk up the left side of Plaza Mariana Pineda (tourist office in Plaza) and head towards a little street by a pizzeria,Dauro 11 is straight ahead.

We would definitely use the Dauro 11 again if we visited Granada.
The Alhambra is a must and we believe that the system of alocating tickets may be changing and may be bought from Tourist offices but check. We booked our tickets well ahead.

The Dauro II is a good, centrally located hotel, right next to a selection of nice tapas bars. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and decent breakfasts. It's very convenient for the shops, markets, Alhambra etc. The only negative is they seem to have a problem with the plumbing as we could hear other people's showers and toilets as loud as though they were in our room. We stayed in Granada for four days which is sufficient to see most things, including one day's skiing in the Sierra Nevada which is a 45 minute bus ride away but a great day out.

Hotel is very centrally located. The room we stayed in was very comfortable with mini bar and safe. Room and bathroom very clean as is the whole of Granada. Breakfast very good and hotel has its own reasonably priced cafe/bar.

Get off airport bus{3 euros each way}at the cathedral. Hotel is five minutes walk.

Walk up to the Albacin where you can have an open air drink overlooking the Alhambra. Even at the end of January we were able to lunch outside in the sunshine {high 50s}.

Well worth a three day trip. Any longer might be pushing it a bit.

Such a fine location ...on its' own tapas street! Rooms were good enough and nice and clean, with a French-type balcony over looking the street..great veiw of the rooftops and beautiful blue sky. Be careful leaning out your balcony after tapas time...the railing is very low!

It was nice to go back to the hotel to take a breather between tapas times...and watch the very sturdy Granadians below obviously not needing a break!

I have to get back to Granada. It has become one of my very few favorite cities in Europe.
