In my web search for a hotel in Granada, I wanted a modern hotel that had an underground secure parking space for my car. I wanted a four star hotel that was new and had a good rating from guests. I always prefer modern buildings because they usually have better amenities than older buildings and I prefer comfort rather than staying in old historic buildings. My search ended with the Hotel Granada Center, which had reasonable hotel rates.

When we entered the lobby of this 6 story hotel, we were impressed because it had a very high atrium with a lot of light from the skylight ceiling. The hotel corridors opened up to this atrium and the doors of all of the rooms faced the atrium. This atrium was invented many years ago by the American architect John Portman and this hotel looked a bit in miniature like the famous Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Embarcadero of San Francisco. The atrium of the Hotel Granada Center had several beautiful brass lamps that were hanging from the ceiling, and they reminded me of balls on a Christmas tree.

The hotel desk clerk was very courteous, friendly, and efficient. I asked for a room that was quiet and she told me she was assigning me a room on the 5th floor that faced the main street, but that the hotel was built with soundproofing, so that there would be little street noise. The porter then helped us get our luggage from our car in the underground parking. He was also very friendly, which impressed me.

When we reached our room, we were impressed by the size of the room. It was huge for a 4 star hotel, and it even included a sofa. The hotel is 15 years old, but has been remodeled 3 years ago. The bathroom was big and new, very comfortable. The room had a mini refrigerator too. Every thing in the hotel was very clean.

The hotel is located on the Avenida Fuente Nueva and it is between 15 and 20 minutes away from the Cathedral walking. Across from the hotel is the University of Granada Science Center. We tried the breakfast buffet of the hotel and it was good and adequate. In conclusion, we were very satisfied with the hotel and will return in the future.

  • Liked — The big size of the room.
  • Disliked — The breakfast can be improved.

My wife & I went to the Hotel to celebrate our 22nd Wedding Aniversary.
I booked a non smoking double room, we ended up with a twin, smoking. The beds were uncomfortable(toohard) and the pillows were like tree trunks(ended up with neck ache).

Tried to order roomservice for breakfast the following morning, the order was never taken, told reception, nothing happened.

The evening meal was expensive and quality was very poor as was the breakfast, orange juice was orange squash and very watery.

4 star prices for a 2 star hotel.....never again, be warned!!!!!

This hotel is just ok. It's definitely not a 4-star hotel. The furniture in the room were new, but the room was very old, with an old carpet! It smelled awful.

The bathroom and the toilet were not clean. It was disgusting. The balcony and the furniture on the balcony were not clean either. If you wanted to sit outside you would have to clean first.

We couldn't close the bedroom door because the bed was in the way. The room was very small and it had too much furniture in it. It was too crowded.

The staff were very friendly and helpfull. They gave us directions and they talked English!

stayed for 2 nights late deal from alpha rooms - aprox £55 per night breakfast included ( thats if you can find the breakfast room )there is a cafe across from reception and we were not informed where to go for breakfast and ended up paying in the cafe !so beware ! cafe was 2 star at best .
breakfast 1 star - greasy spoon - orange juice vile - food was dire.
The porter was very helpful and friendly however reception staff bit rude - they put phone down on me during 3rd phonecall - i asked for shampoo etc as none in room - my bath went cold whilst i was waiting .
Room itself was clean, furnishings were dated, very 1970's - beware as some fixtures and fittings dangerous ie Glass table top completly came away off the stand - very heavy. especially if anyone had children. tv in room was broken and had to be replaced.
the bedside tables were also glass and were easily moved .
there was a lot of noise from outside during the night ie groups of teenagers in the streets and lots of traffic. you have to pay for parking - aprox 14 euros a day.
i would say that this hotel is a little bit out of the way and is not in the nicest of areas. it wasnt rough just unappealing.
all in all hotel ok to get your head down for the night but not 4 star, its dreary and very dated.

We had received a weekend trip to Granada inclusive the stay in the hotel Granada Center. The hotel is a bit far from the center, you have to walk quite a bit to the Alhambra. The staff was nice and friendly and the room clean and big with satellite Television with a good variety of Channels. However, I think that 4 stars are not really justified. The room was ok but not a 4-star-hotel standard. The breakfast buffet was good but the coffee was instant coffee (shame because the coffee in Spain is great) and the juice was not fresh but from a machine. Overall, if I would go to Granada again and had to pay the hotel of my own, I think I would first look for another option.
