“An amazing experience with Franscisco as a wonderful host and story teller”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014 via mobile

The tasting diner at La Oliva was really special. We were with our kids Thomas and Alice ( who were offered some non alcoholic wine :)) and the evening was a unique experience orchestrated by Francisco. Each dish and wine was introduced by Francisco ( he speaks a wonderful French) with a genuine enthusiasm and willingness to share his love for his region. The wine and food were amazing, with mixtures of tastes and flavours which were truly innovative and delicious. The whole evening is an extraordinary experience. Highly recommended.

“Just so much fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

Last week, my wife and I and three other friends had dinner at La Oliva in Granada. While this isnt a "real restaurant", it was one of the most interesting dining experiences we've ever had. Francisco is a wonderfully friendly sweet man who delights in surprising and educating his guests about olives, olive oil, wines, and delicious, simply prepared foods. Dinner was 3 1/2 hours of interesting and varied taste delights coupled with 5 different Spanish wines. We left full, satisfied, energized (and a bit tipsy!)

Our meal was course after course of tastings ... a couple of bites of this followed by a couple of bites of that. Always something new and interesting. Each one was prepared by hand by Francisco on nothing more than a 2 burner hotplate, but each course was just delicious. The biggest surprise was a "traditional winter salad": sliced oranges topped with green onion, radishes, salted cod, pepper, and of course, olive oil. Not a combination I would have ever thought about, but it was wonderful!

Dont go there is you expect a regular restaurant experience: waiters, maitre d's, and wine lists. . You'll be disappointed. But if you want an interesting delicious food experience, make it a point to visit Francisco at La Oliva.

“A Must Go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

We went here with a group of South Carolina college students and a couple of teachers. I must say, we all enjoyed this place very much! For me, it has been the highlight of my trip to Spain. The owner/host is extremely knowledgeable and speaks very good English. The food is amazing, and the versatility of olive oil is interesting. There was not a scrap of food left.

Side note, this is not a traditional "restaurant."

“Very tasty and great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I studied in Granada some years ago and then got to know Francisco (the owner of La Oliva) trough gastronomy classes at the university. This summer we came back to beautiful Granada and now La Oliva offers tastings in a wine cellar below a hotel centrally located in Granada. The food and wine at the tastings are really good and Francisco knows so much about each product. It is needed to make a reservation. At a nearby location there is also a shop from the same owner where he sells local wines, ham, etc.

“Superb convivial dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

As much has the Alhambra is on your must do list of sights, as of course it should be, this dining event is an absolute essential experience of Granada dining.

(If you have even been to Aruba , think "two fools and a bull" at less than half the cost)

Earlier reviewers have accurately described just how good it is and what wonderful value it delivers at less than 40 euros including drinks.

Bookings are essential, bring cash and don't make the mistake we did of being late!
