The proximity of the Alhambra Palace Hotel to the Alhambra itself is the main asset. We had no problem getting an early start to visit Granada’s main attraction, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The original site of the grave of Queen Isabel is actually on the hotel grounds and her reasons for wishing to be buried there are self-explanatory. I do wish, however, that I had stayed in a hotel closer to the town itself for a much cheaper price. I was drawn to the fact that I would be staying in the palace and though it did not disappoint, if you will be in Granada for a few days or longer I would just stay in town and trek up the hill to visit the Alhambra.

We stayed three nights on this lovely hotel and then moved on to the ghastly Hotel Casa Juderia in Seville....The Alhambra Palace was very enjoyable. Ok so the terrace needs a make over, but the views are wonderful . Our room had front and side windows with the same stunning view, across the rooftops of the town to the snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevadas. The staff were courteous and efficient. We had a very good dinner in the restaurant, the room was quiet and we slept like logs.

We loved this hotel. It is ideally situated between The Alhambra (10 minute walk uphill ) and the town (10 minute walk downhill ) .We arrived in the heat of the day and were warmly welcomed whilst our car was valet parked. The hotel was spotless and the staff attentive and courteous. We had a beautiful corner room which was tastefully decorated and had amazing views. In the evening there was a pleasant balcony where we sat and admired the views over a drink. Breakfast the next day was very tasty with a good choice. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel-it was a real find and we could not fault it.

If you visit the Alhambra, you must try to stay at the Granada Parador, not the Alhambra Palace Hotel. I was very dissappointed with the hotel. It was actually depressing. Very much in need of a makeover! Even with the incredible views of the unfortunate town of Granada, we cut our stay from 2 nights to one. I think both of my tourbooks got their review of this hotel WRONG. The staff was nice, but the hotel was simply a big letdown.
