Back from a long weekend with friends at the palace. Overall we were very satisfied by the hotel & service. The location is magical & the views from the bar terrace (the sun shone 2 days!!) are unforgettable. Nice to stroll up to the real Palace (do pre book), and the little buses are cheap, regular and fun to go into town, if you dont fancy the steep walk.
Would we go again? Yes. Any real issues? No.
Cheers

We visited Granada primarily to see the Alhambra. This hotel is adjacent to the park surrounding the site and an easy walk for the visit. It was the right place for us. For those who are interested in seeing more than the Alhambra, the hotel is outside of town, and although you can walk to and from, the hotel sits on a hill above the city, which is a bit of a climb. There is bus service to the area, however. Although modernized, the facility on the inside, reminds me of a grand old hotel. It is decorated with a Moorish theme, which is fitting to the site and I found delightful; not at all like a theme park. Our bedroom and the bathroom were the same size, which is to say a very small bedroom and an average size bath. Both were very clean and usable. What made up for the smallness of the bedroom was the view. We were on the side towards town and had a small balcony/walkway outside our room; not meant for those with fear of heights. The view, both day and night, was lovely and the breezes through the open window were adequate without the use of air conditioning. Not unpleasantly, you could hear voices drifting up from the neighborhood below. The view from the bar is amazing; town and the snow cap of the Sierra Nevadas with birds constantly circling nearby. The drinks were good, as were the ever present almonds. Lunch here was very good and service was attentive. The breakfast buffet was very good, fresh fruit being the highlight. If I returned to Granada I would stay here.

This is a great hotel for seeing the Alhambra and (if you are able-bodied and don't mind climbing some stairs) the central sights of Granada. The location is perfect, within 10 minutes walk of the Alhambra entrance and at the top of the hill above the older parts of the city. The views from the bar/restaurant are fantastic.

The hotel itself is very nicely decorated, with heavy emphasis on Moorish themes and pastel colors. The common areas are clean and in very good shape; our room was a little more run down (especially the carpet) though the paint was fresh and everything worked. Beds were so-so; everything else about the room was fine.

TV is a problem as per everywhere in Spain, with only a few English channels. In addition there is no business center in the hotel. The bar is nice; we did not try the restaurant for any meals other than breakfast, which was a buffet for 15 Euros/person and quite adequate. (Note however that there did not seem to be a cheap breakfast option and there is no coffee shop nearby.)

There are plenty of places to eat & shop down the hill (quite a climb) and a few places up on the hill (we did not try any of these). Same situation for shopping. It is a good idea to be able to climb a lot of steps/ramps if you stay here, or have a car. (The parking is chaotic but it works.)

Overall a pleasant stay and a hotel we would recommend.

Good location for the Alhambra and paths down to town, astounding views from most rooms. Clean rooms with great decor. Professional staff. That's the Good.

The Bad is that my room was somewhat run down. The carpet was thread bare and the decorative painting had never been finished.

€30 per day appeared on my bill for a single cup of coffee ordered from room service. The charge was taken off at my request.

The hotel is good for getting in, seeing the Alhambra, and getting out fast. Now that I am more familiar with Granada, I would probably stay elsewhere if I returned. However my stay there was pleasant.

We (three adults from the same family) stayed here for two nights in December 2007. We picked this hotel for its proximity to the Alhambra, but were also pleasantly surprised to find out that it's an excellent facility overall. The staff were very courteous, helpful and efficient, and everyone we talked to spoke passable English. Our room was modern, clean, spacious, and had a spectacular view of the city below. The Alhambra is a short walk away, and it's also an easy downhill hike to the central city (including the cathedral and the Royal Chapel); you can then catch a city bus back uphill which drops you at the hotel lobby. On site parking is extremely limited, but we arrived by taxi.

Our rate included a very nice breakfast buffet -- good quality and more than enough to fill you up for the day's activities. The hotel restaurant is available if you want a more formal dinner choice, but we didn't try it, instead opting to have sandwiches and drinks in the bar/lounge on the main floor -- a bit pricey, but quite tasty.
