“Too many people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

So much has been said that it is not worth adding to it. The Alhambra is well worth a visit, but it is far too crowded

“Its everything people say and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

The pictures don't lie about the beauty of the Alhambra. The gardens are magnificent, the buildings amazingly well preserved and its very organised to get thousands of tourists through efficiently.
We bought tickets online through ticketmaster and collected them at a cashpoint machine the day before in Granada. Instructions come with the ticket confirmstion. Genious, because when we got up there we had Zero queueing.

We did not buy a tour, we wanted to spend our own time. We had 2pm until 8pm session with entry to the Nazride palace at 7pm. You need to go at the allotted time for this, its where all the toles and intricate carving it. Spectacular.
We spent a total of about 4.5 hiurs there and it was very relaxed and peaceful. Not millions of people because not the height of the season so you could really take time if you wanted to.

You can easily get up the hill on the number 30 bus, save yourself from walking up there, its steep and in the heat of the day, not so pleasant. The bus is €1.20. Catch it at plaza neuva or in via colon.
An amazing place. We came specifically to Granada for this and were not disappointed.

“Stunning Stunning and Stunning what more can you say”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

After reading all the other reviews there is not much more you can say, but a few tips;

Must book the tickets on line before you go, take the 8.30am slot, pick up the tickets the day before from the automated machines so you are ready to go the next day.

Doors open at 8.15 and enter by the door nearest to the Nasrid Palace that way you will get in before all the groups come through.

Get one of the handsets that tell you all about the Alhambra Palace as you walk round, they cost 6.50 Euros for the day and you get them once inside the grounds just before you go into the Nazrid Palace, they are 100% worth it, without it, you will just be walking around not knowing what it is all about.

Finally don't forget to do the main gardens, they are beautiful what ever time of the year you go.

“Fascinating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

If you are wanting to use the audio guides, which we found very interesting, make sure you either have your driving licence or a credit card to leave. We didn't know this but luckily found one of us had a credit card with us. You leave it with them and pick it up on returning the sets.
This is somewhere I have wanted to come since I was a child having read about the Alhambra in history books and novels , I was not disappointed. Just stunning. Great value for money.
Make sure you wear comfy shoes!
We got the bus number 30 from the cathedral, €1.20 each. Took about 15 minutes to get to there. If you have your ticket printed off and want to go straight to the Nasrid Palace for your time slot get off at the last stop, the Puerta de la Justicia.
