“All Around Excellent”

Everything about the stay was wonderful: from the Albaycin location which offers a short walk to Alhambra, to the very personable service offered by the Matés family, and the incredibly spacious penthouse apartment. This is the place to stay if you ever find yourself in Granada.

Room Tip: Penthouse apartment is wonderful for two and ideal for families of 4-6.

The apartment we rented was on the ground floor and was well situated for a walk to Alhambra -roughly a kilometre up the hill. We arrived using the airport bus - get off at the Cathedral stop and then walk there via Plaza Nueva would probably be the best. The flat is quite small, but kitchen well equipped. There were 3 of us and the pull out sofa was just fine. This is not a luxurious place, just a place to sleep. However, I did enjoy coming back at the end of the day, opening a bottle of wine and enjoying the sunset view of the Alhambra from the roof top terrace - very nice! Mano, the lady who was managing the apartments whilst we were staying was a wonderful host and really made our trip to Granada easier, providing a map and advice. Would recommend this lovely place for a 2 day stop in Granada.

The perfect place to stay when visiting Granada. The apartments are ideally situated, within easy reach of the Albaycin and its narrow, pedestrian lanes, the Plaza Nueva and the Cathedral and central shopping area - and the Alhambra, of course. There are many restaurants and bars within a few metres. My apartment (top floor) had a balcony from which I could see the Alhambra and adjacent to it was a charming little roof terrace. The apartment was very stylish and elegantly simple, offering a high level of comfort and cleanliness. The kitchen equipment was good quality and plentiful. The bed was superbly comfortable and there was a magnificent massage shower in the bedroom - such luxury! I booked an on-site massage which was one of the best I've ever had. The owners were very friendly and helpful and I would strongly recommend these apartments.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment with a view of the Alhambra. Lit up at night, the Alhambra is stunning.

My husband and I stayed in the ground floor one bedroom apartment when visiting Granada for 2 nights recently. We booked through Expedia and received a helpful email of information regarding parking and how to access the apartment from the owners. The apartment was spotlessly clean with a particularly well equipped kitchen. The bed was comfy and had nice linen and towels. The wifi worked well. The location is fantastic, close enough to Plaza Nueva but on a quiet street. We walked to and from the Alhambra palace easily. The only slight downside of the apartment was the small shower room. Otherwise it was fantastic and good value for money. We would recommend it to friends.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

We stayed two nights at this apartment/hotel which we booked through Orbitz. The location was great--easy walking distance to the center of the old city and to restaurants. We arrived in Granada about 2:30pm and had problems checking in because the hotel was locked and there was no staff on duty (it is staffed only from 9am to 1pm daily). We did not have a functioning cell phone. An employee from another hotel passing by kindly phoned a friend of his who worked at our hotel and was able to give us the information we needed to get into the hotel and get our key. The manager/owner informed me that the problem was due to Orbitz not forwarding to us the manager's e-mail with instructions on how to get into the building. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, but there was little space to relax. The one bedroom had no room for a chair; the bed took up most of the room. The lighting in the bedroom was poor. We had to use our portable reading lights to read in the evening. The other bedroom/lounge had a sofa bed that was set up when we arrived. There were no other chairs in the room and the open sofa bed pretty much filled the room. There was a small kitchen in the room, but we did not use it because of space problems. We stayed at 3 other apartment hotels during our trip to Spain, and this was by far the smallest (although no less expensive). One bright spot was the owner/manager who was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent position: in less than 5 min.of walking you reach the underlying lively Plaza Nueva and the Carrettera del Darro and 10 min. the Catedral and the Capilla Real.
The apartment is elegant with arabian decorations, full furnished and quiet.
Wonderful the view of the Alhambra from the balcony, expecially during the night when the Palace is all lighted up.
Excellent also the welcome of Mrs. Emanuela and her suggestions for visiting the town.

Welcome to your cosy, romantic, well located rendez-vous with Granada. These guys really got it right. You won't be disappointed.

We got a free upgrade to from the standard to the superior apartment, a nice touch from the owners considering they had no reason to do it, except delighting another customer. If you are on the top floors you will enjoy a great view of the Alhambra from your windows with a characteristic narrow street of the Albayzin at your feet.

The staff were of great help at all times, extremely friendly and welcoming. For me, this is always a strong point to highlight. I could have given 5 stars to the review, but to be fair with my other reviews I will limit it to 4 to compensate for a "not exceptional" value for money accommodation. It is still a very good place. Recommended.

Limitation for some: Taxis will not always bring you there, and even if it is a 5 minute walk from Plaza Nueva, maybe persons with walking limitations should consider this. They have two buildings with apartments, we were at building number 13, where there is no elevator, so hiking the narrow stairs with luggage could also be cumbersome for certain persons.

If you go by car listen to the hotel's staff advice. Park where they suggest and walk. By the way, it will be difficult to park in Granada for less than 16 EUR per day, so add this to your budget.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors.
