We spent 3 nights at the Room Mate Leo and everything was just perfect. Good size room, welcoming atmosphere, nice furniture, spotless room and bathroom (great shower), comfortable king-size bed (with bed lined of excellent quality); very good breakfast, hotel personnel always kind and helpful.
A lovely hotel just a few steps from the cathedral in a very central and crowded pedestrian area, but thanks to the sound proof windows we didn’t have any problem sleeping at night. We came by car and parking in Granada is a bit nightmarish, but there is a good garage underground very close to the hotel and they have special rates agreed with the hotel. We booked the room through the hotel website and had very good rates for payment in advance. We would definitely recommend the Room Mate Leo and will certainly book us again in one of the other Room Mate hotels on our next trip to Spain.

Just got back from a Spanish break, and stayed at the Leo in Granada. Really great location, two mins from the cathedral and not too far from the alhambra either. loved the hotel, neat and tidy and clean. we were next to the breakfast room, so it did get a bit noisy when that started up. but there was a pretty good choice of food, and it stayed serving till midday! we went on to barcelona, and paid more for a lesser hotel. roll on room mate barcelona in 09! one thing, the terrace seemed not to be quite ready when we were there, don't know when it will be up and running - didn't think to ask.

  • Liked — clean, tidy.
  • Disliked — could do with a bigger sign outside - was easy to walk past - we did!

We loved this hotel. It's impeccably clean and brand spanking new. The position is good - in an area with lots of shops and restaurants with good-value 'menus del dia'. It's within easy reach of the major attractions. The staff are really smiley and keen to help.

Some people have commented that it's noisy - if you're worried about this, ask for a quiet room because ours had no street noise at all. The only thing is that the cleaners were sometimes a bit chatty early in the morning when they arrived, which woke us up. But everything else was so great that we didn't really mind.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, modern, designer look of rooms, friendly staff
  • Disliked — Woken up by noise of people having breakfast but not a big problem

My husband and I stayed at Room Mate Leo for two nights.

We had booked what I believe the hotel calls an Executive room.
Wow, very small, and we're fairly used to European hotels.

The decor was brand-new and very nice. TV channels are VERY limited. Mini-bar was stocked with some interesting selections.
Free wireless internet access. A/C took a while to get the room cold, but it is August in Spain. Breakfast had a great selection of options. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

In our room, the view with small balcony was nice and we could see the cathedral. We couldn't leave the windows open, construction and busy street below was way too noisy.

There is supposed to be a top floor bar and terrace with views of the Alhambra and the city. Unfortunately, the hotel has not set up that terrace and bar for guests as of yet. It looks like it will be nice when it is finished.

Area was a bit too much for us, we would have preferred a little quieter area. Restaurants were just okay.

Our main reason for visiting Granada was to see the Alhambra. If we had to do over, we'd only stay one night at a hotel closer to the attraction.

  • Liked — View, decor.
  • Disliked — Size of room, noisiness of area, unfinished areas of hotel.

Loved the Room Mate Hotel in Granada. It was in a great location. The breakfast was filling and tasty. They were accommodating when we requested an extra bed. Great budget hotel.

  • Liked — Friendliness and location
  • Disliked — Hard to work air conditioner, but it did work.
