“Nice Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Just returned from a weeks stay, great locaton, beach, shops bars and restaurants on the doorstep, great walks in both directions along the front to either Torrimolinus centre or Benalmadena, where you can easily get the train to visit other resorts. The hotel is spotlessly clean and plenty of food choice in restaurant, however the dining room is far too small for the size of hotel, people were queing all the time to get in, so you felt quite rushed eating you meal. As the pool area is very small and unfortunatly we had the very bad weather and did not get a chance to go to the sundeck on the roof, l would say its not really suitable for familes with young children, but otherwise a very nice hotel and would go back again.

Five of us on a late holiday to catch the last of the sun before winter sets in. Well that was the plan. Unfortunately it rained most of the time. Good job it was a good hotel. We were within running distance of plenty of bars and eateries and we tried a few. The beach is literally 50 metres from the garden door. And a shop selling brollies for 2 euros each just by the beach was doing a roaring trade! The food was international with enough of a choice to suit everyone, hot and cold, different each night. Good selection of puds and cakes too and even a cheese board. The lads all complained about the breakfast bacon (streaky) but I liked it. You could have chosen from cereals, fruit, continental or pretty much full English if that's what you're looking for - they even had baked beans on the final morning. Rooms were Junior Suites which is a great idea, living room and bedroom. But that left everything a bit of a squash on the balcony. I thought the beds were a bit hard but realise that's all down to personal taste - didn't stop me sleeping. Room cleaning and towel changing were spot on. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Outside there was quite a bit of seating round the pool but we didn't get chance to try it out due to the weather. Shame. Will definitely go back and keep fingers crossed that it doesn't rain next time.

Room Tip: All the rooms on Calle Miami - front of the hotel - get a bit of noise from people using and council...

On our last day in the hotel we were asked to write a positive review in tripadvisor about this hotel by one of the staff members.
As I expect here to find true opinions, I will tell only what we experienced.

Pros:
- good location (near beach and local shopping area, restaurants)
- good food (we had half board), our kids had what to eat. Not the best variety, but enough for the price.

Cons:
- no kids entertainment at low season (although you have to wait for the table for having dinner, so that doesn't mean so low season...). We were in november.
- not really suitable for families with small kids. It's our opinion, because of:
- rooms with stairs, smaller kids can easily fall, cannot step a meter away or go to the toilet.
- hotel full of older people, only few families with kids.
- small hotel area, not for kids again
- in the morning the corridors are full of smoke, although it's a non smoking area (every morning the same)
- loby has open areas, ideal for crosswinds and getting cold in low season. We got cold, heard other people caughing.
- very noisy. If somebody closes door or talks, goes to the toilet, has shower, you know it.

To sum up, it's a good hotel, but not for us... we found more cons than pros. Sorry.

We stayed there last week in October 2012. Myself, wife, 4 year old and 1 year old. Hotel is easy a 4 star, no doubt about it. Staff were friendly (all of them!), food was good, a good selection for breakfast and diner that was changed to some extent daily. Small but nice pool, not heated though. Great beach 50 meters from hotel with lots of great bars/cafes. Had a Junior Suit room which was a good size and clean, nice bathroom. Couldn't fault it really.

... a bit dated in places but this adds to it's charm. When we arrived we were nicely escorted to the dinng room, as there was only 15 minutes until end of service, with apologies there was not much food left. They insisted on looking after our cases whilst we ate. However, there was lot of choice, and it was both nicely cooked and hot. Throughout our stay meals remained very nice, with plenty of choice, and always hot and well presented. Staff were always friendly and helpful, not only in the dinin room, but every where
Bedroom was a spacious junior suite which was nice and clean; bed linen and towels were soft, and smelt fresh ( not that awful bleachy smell you get at some hotels) and the balcony overlooked the pool, which I agee is on the small side, in a pretty garden. But pool size is not a problem. There is a very modern roof area, complete with bar, luxury loungers and spa pool, with panoramic views of the coast and the mountains. A real suntrap. Gorgeous ! ( and we went end of October, start of November ) A really pleasant surprise
Go along the garden path at the rear of the hotel, and you are almost on the promenade and the gorgeous beach, in the middle of the shops , cafe's and restuarants, as well as within walking distance of the Marina
We prefer to go all inclusive, so our only fault with this hotel is that they do not offer this option but we still plan to return, as we really liked the hotel, and it's location, and the fact that it is multi national. However, guests do appear to be older than us,and we are in our late 50's, but we were looking for a relaxing break, and that is exactly wat we got.

stayed in may of this year. hotel was spotless bedrooms were really nice even had a seperate seating area.did'nt use pool as very small and not much sunbathing area, having said that beach was so close by did'nt need to we seemed to be the minority of english staying there a lot of dutch and spainish people which were all very nice.drinks in bar were very expensive happy hour was o.k 2 for the price of 1 most people used bar mostly then.breakfast was good but we were very disappointed in evening dinner never went hungry but every other night seemed to be pork or turkey which i think was more like chicken only ever seemed to be 3 different types of soup on offer 1 being fish wich was on 3 times in 1 week i stuck mainly 2 pastas and salads as i also thought alot of the meat was tough .i don't know if food kept repeating its self as a lot coach trips used it for 3 night breaks.i would say apart from food the hotel was fine would stay again but only on bed and breakfast.10 out of 10 to cleaners and location of hotel walk out back gate and your right in main street and onto a fantastic beach.only 15mins walk 2 belamdina worh going lovely marina then 20mins walk in opposite direction to torromolinas.careulla is beautiful have been going 4 5 years.a trip to nerja is a must

Room Tip: if you want sun on balcony choose street side

Booked this hotel as a cheap break for myself and daughter. I am 46 and think apart from my daughter(14) I was the youngest person here!! The nicest part of the hotel was the lovely roof terrace, but no photo's or mention of this. Good location for beach and souvenir shops.
