My only complaint about this hotel would be the food for me there were too many fish and pork dishes which were on menu everyday the location is great for a quieter holiday and for railway station torromolinos is about seven minutes away by train if you are planning to go to this hotel DONT GET TRANSFERS save yourself money and get the
train which is easy to get to from airport LOS ALAMOS is two stops from airport and two minutes from hotel

We spent a week here and were very happy with our holiday. The staff were helpful and the hotel was very clean. There were a good variety of guests (English, Spanish, Canadian, German) and we didn't encounter any stag do's or particularly annoying groups.

There were generally a few activities by the animation team in the day - darts, water polo, table tennis etc and a mini disco for the kids in the evenings. There was a good selection of food and drink (and even as a veggie there were always a couple of veg hot options).

The train station was 2 minutes away (usually every 20 mins or so), with the airport only 2 stops away, a big shopping centre called Plaza Mayor 1 stop away and then all the main resorts (Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuenigirola) within half an hour at the most. It was cheap and had air con which was great.

The immediate area was fairly quiet which we appreciated, but you didn't have to go far to find more entertainment if you wanted it. We also did a day trip to Gibraltar (booked from Reception) which was fun touring the rock and seeing the monkeys, although we were first and last drop off so it was quite a long day (6:40am to 6pm).

Overall, we would recommend this hotel. For a relatively cheap holiday, it was more than we expected and could not fault our stay!

Really couldn't fault this hotel, will definitely go back again. Went as a group of 4 adults and one 7 year old. Little one had an amazing time, loved the pools and loved the entertainment - Mini disco and games for the kids every night. Adult entertainment was also excellent, a good variety throughout the week.

Make sure you don't buy your transfers as the hotel is 5 minutes on the train for the airport and is really cheap too. Trains are a great service and very frequent, making lots of places easily accessible.

Food was varied and always something to everyones taste. My 7 year old is extremely fussy and she had plenty to eat everyday. No limit on all inclusive drinks at the bar and a few nice cocktails to choose from.

Also free wi-fi available.

Rooms are very spacious and come with air conditioning.

Excellent hotel and will definitely return.

Just returned after a ten day stay at the royal costa, had a great time and we are looking to return next year. Its very clean, lovely grassed areas outside and I found it hard to find the problems mentioned on previous reviews. Royal costa is a tipical 3 star spanish hotel . Towards the end of our stay the hotel was full but I didnt see no more than a few people queuing for drinks { untill 11pm when all inclusive drinks finishes} plenty of choice for tables in the dinning room. the only things that where hit and miss was snacks and kids entertainment, saying that our 12 and 10 year old boys didnt get bored. Also as all facilities are on one level it was easy to keep an eye on the kids. I am glad we took a chance and ignored the bad reviews as we would have missed out on a reasonably priced holiday.

I stayed for a week at this hotel with my partner and another couple. We'd read the varied reviews on here and whole concerned about the negative and optimistic about hthe positive, we decided to go in with an open mind and take it as it came.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by the consistently friendly and helpful staff and directed to our rooms. The hotel was impeccabily clean, as were our rooms. The rooms were standard twin rooms, but had comfortable beds, air con, a TV, a spacious wardrobe and a lovely en suite.

The main problems we had we're the food and the alcohol. Though neither were particularly poor, the food was very samey. Breakfast was easily the best, with both an international selection and more familiar things, such as bacon, eggs and beans. Lunch was also usually nice, but very fish and pork based. Dinner tended to be lunch warmed up. Sometimes is was nice, but very hit and miss. The alcohol served is low percentage. We saw fresh bottles being opened, so they were not watered down, it was just very cheap. Also, most of the time, if you asked for something not on the all inclusive that wasn't on the list, such as brandy, they tended to give you it regardless, which was nice!

Location was amazing! 10 minutes from the gorgeous beach and a variety of shops nearby. There was also a delicious pizzeria which looks a little shabby, but was the best I've ever tasted (just past the hotel, next to the pharmacy). The restaurants on the beach front were also really nice, with cheap drinks and really tasty seafood. Torremolinos city centre is 7 minutes away on the train, and has everything you want for a touristy Spanish town. We also visited Malaga, Benalmadina and Fuengirola while there, with the last being the furthest away at about 25 minutes on the train.

Overall, I was impressed with the hotel, especially for what we paid. The negatives are only small really, so I don't see why people kicked up such a fuss. I would definitely stay again if I was going to Torremolinis!
