“Ok...just Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Stayed here with my partner purely because the hotel my family was in was full and this was located round the corner and cheap.

We were staying in one of the apartments, from the outside they look lovely...inside there are dated and could be doing with a few cosmetic touches. The shower curtain was disgusting, the beds made a noise everytime you moved, there was chips out the tiles and the aircon systems caused lots of dripping onto our patio area.

We only had dinner here twice as half of the items were not labled so we werent to sure what we were eating, but if you like bread and chips your sorted. Breakfast was slightly better.

Pool area seemed nice enough, the pool was nice and clean.

We seemed a long way away from all the action but there was a few bars and restaurants around, very very close to the beach which was nice.

We got a bargain with this hotel so cant really complain, but a few cosmetic touch ups would go a long long way.

This is a difficult hotel to review without thinking about other people rather than just my thoughts.
We had 3 adults in a superior room & it was large enough I suppose. It was comfortable, above average bathroom facilities, a large balcony & a great sea view.
We were all inclusive for 4 nights & had a really good time. & met some great people but any longer & I'd have been eating out. This is 1 of the hard parts of the review.... There were loads of choices for food in the restaurant no complaints on that, but the good was a bit bland. The pool snack bar run by JoJo was great & less limited in choice than you'd expect
The entertainment didn't suit us, but some seemed to love it. On saying that the animation team did a great job with the limited recourses they had & they worked hard to give a good time to those who wanted it.
All the staff in the whole complex were great.
A couple of tips
If you're a coffee drinker, ask the bar staff to make you 1, it's much better than out of the machines.
Put your rubbish in the bins, it'll save other people waiting to sit at a table for the staff to do it. Harsh statement I know but 1 cleaner at the pool bar can't do it all that quick !
And to be fair about this point, you can serve yourself beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee, ice cream etc there are some who will just leave they're rubbish around! !
As for the location, well if you're a stay in the complex person it can't get much better, everything you need on site & only a road to cross to be on the beach, but if you're like me & like to get out & about you will need to use the local bus or taxi service because there's not much around without a 20-30 minute walk.
Would I go back ? Probably not, but that would mainly because I know the area well & this hotel is too far put for my liking, bit as I've already said of you're the kind to stay on site & take advantage if an all inclusive with the beach almost on site, it will suit you

This was our 1st experience of all-inclusive but due to the excellent service from this hotel we are now converted. We got off to a shaky start when the apartment we booked wasn't available on arrival and we had to spend our 1st night in one of the hotel rooms. We weren't best pleased but we did get into our apartment the following day and the holiday really began. The apartments are basic but clean and functional and more than adequate. Our apartment was on ground floor overlooking the bar area which was excellent for access to pool, bar and snack bar. Pool and bar area were immaculate and cleaned every day. The pool area did get busy but there were always spare sunbeds to be had especially at the back pool.
We all found the food to be good quality and fresh with plenty of choice at every meal. As well as the set times for breakfast, lunch and dinner, outside these times the snack bar was serving burgers, chips, pizza and toasties - so there was absolutely no excuse for being hungry. On top of this the soft drinks, beer and wine were all self service with spirits being the only thing you had to queue for - how could you be bad to that???
What really made this holiday though was the staff particularly the staff from kids club and pool entertainment. I was continually amazed at their enthusiasm and energy. The chef in the snack bar also deserves a special mention - he absolutely works his socks off and is so friendly and helpful.

In summary, my expectation of an all inclusive holiday was that once they got your money they would then give you rubbish food with poor service - my experience in this hotel was the complete opposite - great food, excellent staff and a terrific holiday. I would definitely go back.

Just back from a 7 day all inclusive holiday and I really can't fault this hotel in any way .The staff were very helpful as when we landed at the hotel I had lifted the wrong bag from the bus and when I went to reception they could not do enough for me and I got my bag back within the hour..The food was run of the mill all inclusive but anything we got we ate the drinks were on tap so we just helped yourself to what we wanted,at night the bar staff were all pleasant and you didn't have to wait long on your drink. Our room was cleaned every day and we got extra pillows without asking as I had put blanket under my pillow on the first night. The view we had was really nice as we looked down onto the beach, the only fault I have is the hotel was quiet far out of the centre of town but that's not the fault of the hotel and there was a bus stop right outside the hotel and it was never any more that 1 euro 50 not matter where you wanted to go that included Belamadena. So I would go back here and would recommend it to my friends and family.

Room Tip: Just ask for what ever you want as they will do anything to keep you happy.

Stayed at the Puente Real with fieinds 17-27th June. All inclusive. First impressions were good quick check in. We booked a superior room 2416 which was a good size but the bathroom was a bit worse for wear, the enamel was peeling off the inside of the bath and rusty on the outside. The towels were small and past their sell by date, very thin and we could not get dried properly. We had trouble locking our door, phoned reception the lady who answered said that someone would was on their way, 15 mins later no one had arrived, so phoned again, the same lady once again said someone was on their way. Half an hour later no one came. I fixed the problem myself by putting the card in and out a few times. The pools were ok but there was not enough umbrellas and if you wanted one you had to get up at 6 am There was a sign saying the pool did not open while 10 am but if you wait until 10 you will not get a sunbed and that you could not leave towels on beds unattended for over an hour, or they would be taken off to let someone else use them, never saw this done before we went on the beach for most of the holiday because without cover we would have burnt. Food was not as bad as some people posted although I saw adults getting food from the children section because they did not like what was on offer. . BUT it was repetitive. You get two small bottles of water in the fridge when you arrive but they are not replenished, you have to fill them in the restaurant or the pool bar, No beach towels take your own, first time I have had to do this when all inclusive. Table and chairs inside the hotel bar are cheap plastic very shabby. Only two people serving at both bars so expect queues

although at the pool bar you can get your own beer and soft drinks. But remember this is just my opinion.

Dear Customer,

Thanks for sharing your experience at Hotel Puente Real. Your feedback is very important to us. We remind you that the vast majority of the hotels in Costa in Spain do not provide towels for the beach or pool. We are just home from a week all inclusive with 2 children age2and10, I personally was a bit warey of this hotel after reading some reviews but I am glad I was wrong because this hotel was great for us and the kids, we paid extra for superior room and I was mega impressed , views were breath taking, snack bar at pool was fab we didn't use lunch in dining room as we were happy to sit at pool with lunch, bar staff and cleaning staff are outstanding at ther jobs , they don't stop. Entertainment was ok maybe that was the only fault if any but kids enjoyed the kids disco. All staff was pleasant and happy to help, I would recommend this hotel to family's , location great , beach gorgeous. Will be going back.

Room Tip: Family superior rooms look directly onto beach

Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Puente Real Hotel, when we arrived we were given our room cards and we had a lovely room on the 6th floor it was so big and very clean, we asked for extra pillows and they were brought to our rooms whilst we were unpacking. We had a great view of the sea and the pool. All the staff were very helpfull with arranging things from an iron to ordering taxis and giving directions to places we wanted to visit. They staff in the dinning hall were amazing, you were greated as soon as you walked in by Eduardo such a lovely man always asked how your holiday was going and even when he was busy he always found time for a little chat. All the others waiters were very nice and cleared the tables very quickly. We did find the food a little boring most of the time there was chips, pizza, turkey and pork but it was all fresh and some of it cooked out in the dinning hall. We choice to eat out a few times just to break it up. There was also a bbq bar out by the pool so you could get something to eat there during none meal times, and the pool bar did pizzas during the evening. We got taxis to most places but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel the L2 goes into the town for 1.22 and the 123 takes you up near the marina. It's a 5 minute walk to the train station and it was something like 3.70 to go to Malaga town. The beach was across the road that was great because sometimes you couldn't get around the pool, it was a little annoying when you came down in the morning to go to the pool, there would be nobody there but all of the sun beds would have towels on them. The entertainment in the hotel was really good, with lots of shows and they even had a disco. The hotel was nice and quiet for the first part of the holiday but towards the end it got very loud at night with people banging around at all hours during the night.Because we were a family we has two rooms next to each other at the end of the hall so when we were in our rooms we kept the doors on the catch with us going in out out of the two rooms, on one of the days we were on the balcony and the door swung open two minutes later two girls walked in they ran out when they noticed we were on the balcony my mum ran out after them and there was another girl keeping watch outside of our room so make sure you keep your doors shut. Other than that it was a good holiday and a fantastic hotel.
