“Very average for A 4 star.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Upon arrival the front of the hotel looked very impressive and the security guard was really pleasant and was playing with my 2 year old. We should of been in the hotel but was given a room in the self catering part which was pretty bad considering the difference in decor. Also the place is pretty big and we were just given a map to find our room which took a while.nothing was explained properly and the reception staff wasn't very helpful on numerous occasions throughout my hols.
The food was really poor, everything (even the bread)tasted like salt, as a vegetarian I found myself eating dry pasta most nights and have stayed at 2 stars with more choice. Knives, forks and plates not clean, and dishes marked as vegetarian but on inspection were clearly not.
Nothing from the snack bar was vegetarian as everything was thrown on the same grill, but my son ate mostly from here and I found the man running it a real asset to the hotel and he needs a pay rise, anything he's earning is not enough, nothing was too much trouble and no matter how busy he was he never stressed,2 people covered his day off and the wait was double.also a very friendly lady worked on the bar,she was always playing with the kids.freezer full of ice pops and slush kept my son happy.personally wasn't impressed with the beer quality.
Everyone were rude for some reason in this hotel and as much as it pains me to say this the English guests were far worse than anywhere else, with the exception of the short fat grey German who wanted to fight with anyone from England, launguage was terrible considering most families had kids.
The entertainment was poor and hard to understand, the girls who ran kids club were very uninterested, they did what they had to do but didn't go out of their way, seemed more interested on getting drunk with young guests. I did shooting once and was so bored where the last hotel made it fun the man was that funny, the entertainment team in puente real lacked personality and spunk with the exception of the Spanish dj who was really pretty funny.
Showers were terrible too. All in all, I'd not rate this a 4 star and was bored would not come back. Oh also the god dam birds, there was bird poo everywhere yak!!

Just returned from a week stay in the PUENTE REAL in torremolinos on all inclusive board, first impressions of this hotel were that it was very clean and tidy and everyone one of the staff that I spoke to smiled and helped the best they could ,all were very polite .We had a superior room on the 6th floor with fantastic sea views ,the rooms were also spotless.
The dining room was spotless and the staff once again were all very friendly , the food was all very nice and cooked to a high standard .The outside areas were all clean with 2 large pools and a kids smaller pool. The snack bar cook numerous items chips ,chicken burgers etc and this was plentiful, the cook worked very hard and knows what fast food means .All inclusive customers helped themselves to beer and soft drinks which cut down on queues .
The bad points in my opinion , our room was east facing and by 8 in the morning it was like a furnace , I asked the reception staff why our air con wasn't working they told me that they don't turn it on until 16th June , as some customers were still using blankets , well in my opinion 4 star hotels have air con on hand .
second point swimming pool facilities were not big enough to take the amount of people in the hotel.
3rd point dirty knifes and forks in trays in the dining room ( looked like dishwasher hadn't washed them properly )if I had aircon in the room it would have been 4 out of 5 .And the biggest gripe of my holiday which is not a fault of the hotel was fowl mouthed teenage British around the pool I had my 4 year old son with me .

Me and my partner travelled here 31st May for 7 nights on all-inclusive basis. On arrival check in was quick and easy and staff were helpful. We stayed in an appartment at the back of the hotel which was situated on ground floor. It was nice and clean but couldn't sit and relax on balcony or leave towels out as people were always walking past. There are superior rooms which looked lovely but obviously to upgrade you had to pay extra! We had to get up early every morning to make sure we got a sunbed as by 9am they were all taken. Weather was lovely everyday whilst there so pool was busy. Pool bar was good but always a queue for drinks day and night. The bbq area was lovely, the guy always remembers your orders and is very quick. He was lovely!!! Food was nice or so I thought, always hot, a lot of choice and lots of salads and desserts! BUT on the last day my partner was ill and i was ill when i returned home the same night, it turned out we both had SALMONELLA from something we had eaten!! Hence why i wouldn't come back to this hotel even if everything else was nice! If you want to get a table to sit down and eat always go when the restaurant opens as it gets busy and is a bit like a cattle market, especially at breakfast!! Entertainment was ok always finished by 11pm, didn't see much as always went out at night for a walk. All-inclusive drinks finished at 11 too and couldn't get more than 2 drinks at a time. Someone was always stood watching you day/night to see if u had a wristband on when helping yourself to beer, cold drinks and wine. Only good thing is san miguel was the beer on tap!
On check out, you can book a courtesy room if you have a late flight back and get a shower which is good as the towels were provided and a hair dryer. You can only have it for 30 mins though and in that time we were midored to death by the maid and reception phoning asking how long we had been in there, they should know!!
Overall, staff are nice and appartment was nice and clean except towels were only changed once in a week and the bed wasn't changed at all. I enjoyed the food at the time until i got ill at home and went to the doctors. Wouldn't return back here!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room if you pay extra as you get a sea view or ask for a appartment which is high...

We recently visited Hotel Puente Real for 1 week. We stayed in room 2121, which looked onto next door's hotel and the beach - lovely view. The room was great, very clean and spacious. Only gripe would be that we got 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double, and the mattresses were too firm for our liking. No noise problems at night however, except for children running around the corridors (parents fault not hotel). We were glad that our room did not face the pool/bar area as it meant we could get away from the noise if we didn't want to watch the entertainment (which was quite often). Entertainment was typical for Spanish hotels, but probably well suited to famillies.

The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Tania! Various options for food, but meals were repeated throughout the week. Food not always as hot as we would have liked but microwaves were available. Salad selection consistently good.

Although the website says there are 3 pools, I would have said there are only really 2 as one is a paddling pool for little kids. Could not work out if one of the pools was adults only as this was not policed. Reserving sun beds rule also not policed, which caused some problems as if you weren't up at 7:30am you wouldn't get one (without arguments with fellow guests).
Poolside bar and snack staff work very hard and long hours but always friendly and helpful.

Location of the hotel was ideal for us as we wanted to be a bit out of the thick of it for some peace and quiet. The walk into town was pleasant, and took us about 40 minutes. We used the lift into town for 50c each once but found that there was a nice walk through some little shops into town (wouldn't be suitable for prams/wheelchairs though).

We used public transport lots throughout the week, taking the L2 into town, the M123 to the Marina, a coach to Marbella from Torremolinos town centre, and the train to Malaga. All of which I would recommend.

Would highly recommend this hotel, and booking with Jet2 as transfers were included (however the hotel is not far from the airport so could get a taxi).

Room Tip: Request a room facing the beach, as facing the pool could be noisy at night. Standard room was perf...

Hotel is very clean, staff extremely helpful and food is great. Edwardo who runs the restaurant does a wonderful job and nothing too much trouble. Take a picnic to the beach for a great day out. Snack bar food is tasty too especially the chicken kebabs. My only complaint and its only small is people reserving sunbeds with towels and then going out for the day, very unfair. I can't wait to go back.

Just returned from a weeks all inclusive as a single parent with two boys aged 11 and 8 years. We could not fault this hotel one bit. We took a taxi from the airport which is only 10 mins away and cost 17 euros. First impressions of the hotel were great it was clean and smart with check in extremley easy and quick as we arrived ten mins before the resteraunt closed the manager was happy to send us off for our meal and come back to complete check in.

Rooms were great, cleaners were in everyday and we found there was plenty space and great views.

The food was perfect, not overly fancy as u can imagine at an all inclusive but there was always something we could eat and whilst it was busy there was never a huge wait. There was also a childrens buffet which catered for the more fussy children.

The snack bar at the pool is open whilst the resteraunt is closed serving fries, toasties, chicken skewars and burgers and the guy that works there is one of the most hard working people i have ever seen and always friendly, Pizza was also available at the pool bar.

The kids club were wonderful, we have often found there is never any entertainment catering to our eldest child but he was kept amused the whole trip. They animation team are wonderful and friendly and I always knew my children were in safe, good company. We also took part in many games as a family with there being something available for all ages throughout the day.

The walk in to town is about 30 mins but is along a beautiful beach with plenty to see on the way or you can get the bus. The train station is also very close (10 mins) which can take you to malaga and benalmedena etc.

Overall a wonderful holiday and would go back in an instant!

I stayed here at the end of may with my 2 teenage children & my sister for one week. I enjoyed my time here the hotel is kept clean & the hotel staff are very polite & helpful. The All Inclusive was good value for money & despite me being worried after reading the reviews beforehand found there to be plenty of choice. The poolside snack bar was great serving chips , hot dogs , pizza , toasties & much more throughout the day. The Animation team were great & did a lot throughout the day to keep children & adults alike occupied & having fun. I would definitely go back to this hotel if I were to go back to Torremolinos. Nice cheap enjoyable holiday.
