“Relaxing stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We stayed here for one week in July, nothing much to add as most of the other reviews said it all.
I missed having a fridge in the room but that is the only complaint I have. We did have a small complaint about where we were sat in the dining room for our evening meal ( breakfast and lunch you can sit where you want). We were sat very near the show cooking and one evening a woman passed so close to my husband she actually held her plate over his head which didn't go down very well, so my husband pushed the table a couple of feet away, this was noted by the waiters and before long the head waiter was over and I told him we wasnt happy so straight away he told us we would have a different table by the window which pleased us enormously. The next evening as an apology the hotel placed a full bottle of champagne on our table which I thought was a lovely touch. The staff are absolutely brill, always smiling. Would definately recommend this hotel, great location about 40 mins walk to the centre of Torremolinos along the front.

On arrival we were given a glass of champers each and checked in quickly and told we could go to room and then get lunch. Food brill, great selection! I cant understand how anyone can complain about it! No snack bar has such or icecream available other than at dinner time.
Staff friendly, hotel very clean. They could do with more toilets, nearer the bar and terrace, we called it the walk of shame when you needed to spend a penny!
Outside bar closes at 6.30pm. A shame, this could be utilised better in the evening. In the evening the inside bar has "entertainment", the worse I have ever seen! A bit weird being inside also in temperatures of 34oc plus! The overspill from the bar sit on the roof terrace, where we went everynight.
Cocktails not so good, but wine and beer and spirits are ok. You can get a bottle of water to take up to your room from the bar. We took up a cup of ice also, since there is no fridge in the room.
Our room was lovely and had a seperate lounge, overlooking the pool.
Don't know why people insist on reserving sunbeds, there are lots of them and you can lend towels daily from reception for the pool.
Lovely hotel but let down by dreadful entertainment.

We stayed here for a week from the 5th of July 2013 and had requested rooms on a lower floor due to have a 3 year old. (Our party consisted of two adult, two teenagers and a 3 year old). We had two rooms which were not next door to each other but were on the bottom floor(-1). The rooms were very clean although we had a problem with the cockroaches with being on the bottom floor. I believe after a few days the cleaners put something on the floors as we then kept finding cockroaches dead.
The staff were extremely friendly and never tired of the children and made an effort with them every day all day.
The entertainment was a bit poor though they spoke in Spanish,German, English and French to cater for the different guest, there were not many English speaking guests while we were there.
The location is very good with transfer from the airport taking about 10 minutes. A bus stop is directly outside the hotel and the beach is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. Behind the hotel is an outdoor park area with swings and slides( there is only one slide on the hotel premises). There I also a train station 10 minutes up the road which take you to different parts of Spain and is very easy to Use.Each ticket one was costs about 1.90 euro per person.
Food was nice but very repetitive and we only stayed for a week!
We were given the second sitting for out evening meal( I think this was at 8:30pm) but as there was always a queue we tended to wait till 8:45pm/9pm when it had eased a litte.
The puddings/ice creams were by as expected as they were by available throughout the day as we expected as our 3 year old wanted to cool down with the odd ice cream through the day which we had to walk the short distance to the shop for.
There is also a hairdressers and spa on site were you can book various treatments. Which ranged from anything from 30 euros to over 100euros. We didn't sample these.
We did however visit the local watermark which cost 10 euros in a taxi to get to, it cost 3euros each to use two buses and walk to get there. It cost use 93 euro for all of us with a discount voucher to go to the watermark and then you have to pay for a locker and subbed etc.
We enjoyed our holiday and the location was excellent for us. However not sure we would stay here again due to entertainment and repetitiveness of food.

This is a good clean hotel typical RIU managment style.Good food lots of choice, breakfast a bit repetitive after a week but not to bad,Some rooms have been modernized but ours was not it was a bit tired around the edges but clean,Staff are all friendly and polite,Pool area has plenty of space and beds at any time of the day only down side they dont allow inflatables in the pool so the kids were a bit disappointed fine if its adult only hotel but when its a family hotel never mind they still enjoyed themselves,Area outside the hotel is a bit quiet but you can get a bus into town about 1 euro each or a taxi for about 5 euros depends how hot it is.The water park is just out side of town just as easy to get a taxi about 7 ueros or bus into town and a 15 minute walk. A walk into town is about 30 minutes.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have the terrace which has singers on a night untill 12 am so if you want bed ear...

WE arrived to be given a glass of champagne the room wasn't ready so had to wait but wasn't a problem as we arrived around noon. rooms were clean and cleaned to a good standard each day. pool area was small but adequate. drinks were freely available and all the waiting staff in the restaurant and bars were very friendly. Foodwise there was always a decent choice of dishes and for the price we paid it was above what we expected! entertainment was the usual AI type of acts and it was always easy to get served at the bars. overall we had a nice holiday and the hotel is centrally located so a short stroll to the beach. would return as had a good quiet relaxing break. only one gripe was there was no fridge in the room which in the heat would have been appreciated. chris c.

Room Tip: we stayed on the first floor with no pool view - this was good as was away from the bar area and was...

My Husband and I choose to go ehre for our honeymoon. on arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly but were told our room was not reasy. all we wanted to do was get changed and cool down. however we were told to go for lunch an return to reception when we were done.
hotel is very clean and reception staff are soo friendly an helpful. the problem we had was when it came to the entertainment! as we were there 10 nights we saw the same acts a couple of times and they were rubbish. the lady tht sings on a tues or weds nite (cant member which) CANNOT SING!!!!!! dont get me wrong she probs wld sound great if we could understand her. also the entertainment manager was also very hard to understand an abit creepy.
the food in the restaurant was very repetative and when we asked the head waiter when the themed nite was he said that it was the nite before (thurs nite) but the food was just the same as any other nite. on our last nite they brought round a questionnaire to ur table about ur stay, however they only do this every 2 wks and most people that were there tht nite were new so would have no complaints. be very careful tho if this happens to u as the waiters in the restaurant go rnd an read the behind ppls bks then try an make u change ur mind on wat u ave put.
another dwnside is that there is no toilet on the same floor as the bar. u ave 2 walk past reception an dwn a flight of stairs then along further. dont think this is a very gd idea spec if u are drunk. there seems to be alot of noise aswel at nite, they dont shut off the terrace when they say they will and no1 is there to monitor the noise. we seemed aswel to ave very noisy neighbours tht u cld hear at all times of nite.
there is also a riu hotel nxt door but u r not allowed to use the facillities there which i think is ridiculous. there is a great pizzeria dwn the rd which is reasonalbe and a super indian called katmandu tht we were told about. deffo worth a visit!!!!
we did enjoy our holiday apart from all tht but i would not class it as a 4 star hotel. TAKE NOTE OF THIS RIU AND BUCK UP UR IDEAS
