The hotel looks like hotels in a former Soviet-union. Its a colosseum with lots of small apartments equipped with very old and worn out furniture. We were a family of three staying in one small room, the size of a toilet...it was an experience! You need to have a good relationship between the fellow travellers if you intend to stay in these apartments for longer period. The "kitchen "consisted of a small stove and a washing basin. Bathroom was new but there were cockroaches... So what was good? The location next to the vibrant small city of Torre. The beach, yes! It was also interesting to spy other guests evening time from our balcony cause each apartment had a direct view to one another. It was like being in a Big Brother show! The "wifi" at Bajondillo was poorest in the whole area and it worked mainly only in the lobby! Every evening there was free "entertainment" at piano bar...same piano player and singer playing their own versions of international hits. If you wanted to sleep it was really annoying cause they played every bloody evening until midnight. Sometimes there was nice flamenco, though..:) So would we stay there again? Well. If the price would come down, yes, but only for the location. The hotel is popular with local tourists, English and Maroccoan guests. We never tried the restaurant cause we cooked most of our meals in our tiny kitchenette. The beach boulevard is lovely and busy during weekends until early mornings. There are nice and also inexpensive bars and restaurants down there. I fell in love with the nearby quiet fisher village La Carihuela. Next time at Costa del Sol we' ll stay there ...

Rooms are not that modern but sea view balcony make it up for it. The hotel is located right on the beach which is great. They provide free shuttle bus to airport and you can arrange airport pick up as well. Staff is very friendly and helpful, reception desk provide help with all the trips and tours (Gibraltar, Morocco etc.). Bar area is great - the bartenders don't speak English very well but at least they trying. Bajondilllo apartments are definitely a Toremolinos destination.

Room Tip: Balcony with sea view is a must!

Bajondillo Apartments have a fantastic beach front location. Rooms are basic but clean and excellent value for money. Lots of entertainment in the evenings. Have stayed 3 times and would have no hesitation staying again. If you book your stay with the Bajondillo itself, rather than part of a package, you even get free transfer as part of the deal

Have stayed at the Bajondillo for many holidays as it is one the most welcoming hotel/appartments in Europe. It has its own charm and warmth and the receptionists are exceptional in there deliverence.
People write about not having a kettle, toaster or microwave but there is no stopping you from going to one of the cheap chinese shops and purchasing them because you can also leave them behind and use them on your next visit to the Bajondillo

Room Tip: Higher floors get more sun. Wifi is excellent everywhere

The Bajondillo Apartments are situated on the beachfront in central Torremolinos. The location, just below the old town, allows easy access to the Town Centre by stairs or lift. The main block overlooks the pool while another separate block overlooks an amusement park and provides an excellent view of the Casa de los Navajas, one of the best known of Torremolinos’ landmarks.
The reception is accessed from the rear of the main building and is situated opposite the bar, which is open until 1 am and offers nightly entertainment. On arrival, we requested an upper floor but were allocated a studio on the first floor of the separate building. The reception staff, although superficially polite, did not impress us with warmth or concern for their clients. This was further emphasised when we discovered and reported (twice) that our Air-Con unit was not working. Despite assurances that it would be attended to it wasn’t. On departure I reminded the receptionist of this but was met with gruff indifference. The rooms, as others have stated, are in need of renovation with the studios featuring a strange L-shaped arrangement of the beds. For a self-catering apartment there is also a lack of facilities. Few are looking to do any substantial cooking but the lack of kettle, toaster and microwave is unusual in his part of the world. Two features, however, are praiseworthy; the free wi-fi and the powerful shower in the well-appointed bathroom.

There is a reasonably good selection of bars and restaurants around the hotel, particularly on the Paseo Maritimo promenade and Calle Antonio Navajas Ruiz, where you will find The Beirut Lebanese restaurant and, next door, Vintage 88 is an up-market Tapas bar where the owner will take you on a personal tour of the menu. Although pricier than average, it is well worth a visit. Calle Antonio Navajas Ruiz also has another tapas bar and Chinese, Pizza and Burger restaurants; so, something for everyone.
If you prefer a trip up the stairs to the Town Centre, I would recommend La Escalera restaurant, halfway up the stairs just below the Pimentel Tower. The stairs eventually take you to the pedestrianized Calle San Miguel which leads into the centre. Halfway up the Calle a left turn will take you into the Plaza de la Nogalera, which is fringed by bars and restaurants and includes the town Railway Station, under the Plaza, where you can access trains to Malaga and other resorts on the coast. Off the Plaza is the Kathmandu Nepali-Indian restaurant which is highly recommended.

Overall the Bajondillo Apartments provides a good central base to explore Malaga and neighbouring resorts although beware the coolness of the staff and non-coolness of the Air-Con…

Room Tip: I would imagine that noise levels will decrease as you move to higher floors, although you would nee...

Im just back today from torrmolinos. i stayed at this location for 7 days. Having read other reviews of these apartments i wonder are they talking of the same bajondillo apartments i stayed in. Their brochure desscribes the apartments as self catering. i expect to find a kettle, toaster and a cooker in an apartment described as self=catering. My shock to realise no kettle, no cooker or no toaster but what was supplied was a space equivalent to a sink and draining board in an average kitchen.
within that space you are given a bowl shaped sink and what can be described as a two ring camping style gas/electric fitted top beside it. under this is a small fridge and beside this a bin press.you are given a small saucepan and two larger saucepans (the latter two are up so high you would need to be at least 6ft to reach the shelf they are on). The Bathroom is opposite this area. In here you have a bidet that has what looks like a heater behind it and warrents a thorough disenfecting and cleaning. Its filthy. Toilet and handbasin clean. Bath had hair in it from previous users of the apartment. this has a shower overhead and mould growing around the taps. The quilt on one of the beds was stained and as for changes of sheets i was in the apartment most days when the cleaner was there and they were never changed. the place could do with a fresh lick of paint as the white paint is gone brown. I had the misfortune of been placed on the 3rd floor with no views with the exception of apartments facing me. These were opposite the cabaret room. (I think they were 5 storey apartments facing 5 storey apartments) I too had the misfortune that the sun never shone on the side i was on. I told someone from cork as i was leaving i would write this review about the place and when i told her where i was she said it was the worst location of all the apartments. Ive heard others talk of the same while i was there about these apartments. I certainly will never go back and will advise anyone i hear thinking about going there not to. Staff here grunt at you if you have no knowledge of their spanish tounge but will talk freely and joke among themselves. As a lone traveller i will never return. This is my second time abroad the first time last year in lanzarote and id go to lanzarote 100 times quicker even tho there isnt as much there but the people are far friendlier and more helpful.

Room Tip: I definately would never return and would never recommend it to anyone. Pool clean, dont think so. I...
