We stayed at this hotel January 3rd to Jan 10th 2009.
We had 2 rooms which overlooked the pool on 2nd floor.

They were kept very clean by efficient cleaning staff but somedays did not come round until after 3pm.

The tv in the room had 4 basic channels and if you wanted more then you had to pay 3 euro per day.BUT if you have kids ask reception to remove channel 10 from the package as its hardcore pornography!

We were all extremely disappointed with the food in the hotel. We stayed on a half board basis and wish we had not.

Breakfast in the morning was always the same with no variation and the "hot" items never were!

There is a microwave so you can reheat your food when you get back to your table.

Dinner was never a pleasant experiance. Again the food was consistently cold and of very poor quality. Complain to the staff about the temperature of the food and they point to the microwave.

I am not a particularly fussy eater but I struggled on some nights to find something to eat.

The hotel is in a good position but as has been mentioned before its on a hill.

Overall its a nice hotel let down badly by the quality and choice of food in the restaurant.

As we had a late flight home we asked to keep our 2 rooms for late checkout. We were told we could only keep 1 room per booking?????.

We kept 1 room and were charged 25 euro to extend it from the usual checkout time of midday until 6pm.

We would not return to this hotel again.

Hotel Has been upgraded since last stay and more work is to be done in 2009 - Beware if not being told when booking!.
Hotel is clean but food well below par and went out most nights for dinner.
If you want good English food, at a reasonable price then i would reccomend THE BLACK BULL at the bottom of the hill & turn right.
The chinese nearby is not bad as well and the beach bars are good if you like fish.
It is easy going down to the beach but if you have difficulty walking up hill then not the hotel for you. It has parking which is almost impossible to find in the summer and easy walk to the town centre shops & bars.

Las Palomas Torremolinos. I booked 2 room at this hotel for Christmas. I found the man on reception very rude, I checked i to find the rooms were not the same as the website & facing a brick wall.I asked to be moved as the patio doors didn't lock, he said only 1 floor open & that if we didn't like it dont come back again. the food was poor & the rooms were tired Need of re decoration. No way is this hotel 4 Star.

This was our sencond visit to this hotel and once again we had a great time.
The hotel is under going a refurb to make it a 4 star. Loads of changes to the reception and tv and computer room.
Staff once again were lovely, cleaners never stop cleaning but they always stop to say hola.
The restaurant staff were very friendly, we dont know much Spanish but it was easy to understand what they were saying,
And the girls at the reception were very helpful when we needed to confirm our taxi,
The rooms we had one overlooked the sea and the other one overlooked the pool.
We found the food this year to be better than last year, one of my daughters is a vegetarian and she found plenty to eat.
Try the soup don't know what it was but every night it was great.
we never went to the entertainment on a night so cant say anything about it.
But we did visit the Black Bull every night, owners are a lovely couple from Leeds called Tony and Margeret,
You will get a warm welcome from them, there Sunday lunch is fantastic and you get a good helping of it.
You could get on the bus over the road from the hotel and go into Benalmadena it costs 1E 15cents and drops you where you want. we used it to go to the Paloma park, take plenty of bread and stuff to feed the ducks, chucks and rabbits,
Friday is market day and there is one just outside the park, worth a look.

My and my husband went to Torremolinos in the last week of September. We read all opinions about the Las Palomas and we decided to book a room there. We had a little doubts of getting a room with a view for a wall. However we were really nice surprised.
Hotel is lovely and looks really impressive. It is not very tall but still big. Has a lovely swimming pool (not huge) with a jacuzzi. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Furniture is not very new and honestly speaking it would be great if they invest for new ones but still bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is modern. Tiling looks impressive. Towels were changed every day and also room was cleaned every day. The only minus is TV. If you want to have more than 3 channels you have to pay 3 euro per day for television.
We came by hired car. Hotel has own parking. It costs 6 euro per day. Parking is monitored which makes your holidays nicer.
Location of the hotel is excellent. It is 5min. walk to the beach and 5min. walk to the promenade. The pavement behind the beach is not ending. You can walk to the nearest villages and still walk. On the promenade you can find lovely restaurants with delicious food which is not very expensive.
The only problem which might appear after arrival is where the room is located. Everything on 4th floor and up (reception is on the 4th floor- it is like for us a ground floor) is excellent because the view is nice. But everything below 3rd floor might be with a view for a wall. I think that it might happen especially in the season when they are fully booked. But outside season it should not be a problem.
Torremolinos is really nice but if you are young, go to Benalmadena. There are a lot of discos. Torremolinos seems to be for old people. So be prepared that you will not find many fun and nightlife.
Also last week of September is not a best time to go to Costa del Sol. You might have rain. Better time outside season is June.
Las Palomas as a hotel is beautiful and really has 4 stars. Food is excellent and everybody finds something nice and be full. Buffet is reach and everything is fresh.
We totally recommend this hotel.
