We've just come back from a 4 day quick break in Torremolinos. The weather might not have been perfect but the hotel came very close.
We noticed the little things, like free water waiting in your room (and for the whole time you're there) and the free toothbrushes and toothpaste. A hairdrier that actually works, and the friendliness of all of the staff throughout the hotel. No niggling little restrictions, and a wonderfully comfortable bed and pillow.
The hotel is clean and has a smart appearance, and a relaxed laid back feel. I can't speak for other times in the year, but for a February break I loved it. Good entertainment every night, and well attended activities in the day. Excellent food, and a policy of cleanliness I've never seen anywhere else. Each guest is requested to use a hand sterilizing unit on entering the dining room.
The Marconfort is separated from the beach by the main road, and they have their own sunbeds in front of a side gate leading to the beach, apparently for a small fee, although the sunbeds on the large patios and pool area are free.
All in all I recommend this hotel to everyone, we would make a point of rebooking at any time we visit Torremolinos, as most of the people we met there had done. Brilliant place..

Stayed 17th to 23rd Febuary as a couple looking for a early break, we arrived to our room 105 to be met with a flood in the bathroom, we reported this and a cleaner turned up straight away to clean it and investigate, but could not find anything, we were offered another room but as there appeared to be no reason to move,we stayed.On the second night we found the reason for the flood, the room above had a blocked pipe which resulted in when they used the shower it emptied into our bathroom,we reported and again the response was immediate, and again cleaned up.
Avoid room 105! the toilet then blocked on the Thursday.
Entertainment; the 2 shows we watched were okay but we assumed that with it been early in the year they were slightly rusty.
Drinks; lots of choice, with the lager quite tasty..
Staff; 1st class, very hepful even though we had the problems in the room.
Cleanliness;not sure that the mop for moping areas should be used as a toilet plunger, but it did the job!
Sickness; yes, Awoke Saturday morning at 3am to expeirence a bout of vomiting, and again at 7.30am spent the flight back to Newcastle been very careful,
Weather;As it was February was not to sure what to expect, but we got 3 good days, 1 totally ruined day due to wind and rain and 1 mixed.
Travelled with jet2 holidays c/w transfers 1st dropped off within 20 minutes and collected last , so no hanging around.
Overall; even though we had a few problems with the room, the hotel is ok.
Tip, turn left out of entrance and walk up to La Coliina train station, a single to benalmadena just 1.70 and fuengirola not much more.

Al keep it short. Cos i read the reviews on this hotel about the bug so i shouldnt ave booked ! Fab room overlooking the pool.Went for 3 nights n days. Its a fab hotel entertainment good. Drinks gud n strong ! We were enjoying are time here but the last day my fiancee got the hotel bug n i aint too good. Totally spoilt are quick break
Away. The glasses in the restaurant are filthy n we noticed a shortage of staff to clear away. They let us have another room free of charge till 5. So my fiancee could rest before our flight. It was as tho they were used to holidaymakers bein ill on a regular basis. Would i go back ?? Ye once the bug as gone and holidaymakers reviews prove it !!

(Stayed 17-23 Feb 2013) We go to Costa Del Sol twice a year, normally staying in the same hotel in Benalmadena, however, we decided to give this hotel a go for a change of scenery and for the value of the All Inclusive package. Having read most of the reviews before we booked which made mention of previous "stomach bugs" we still felt that the hotel were taking steps to ensure hygiene levels were being improved enough to allow us to book with confidence.
After all, this is described as 4* (the same rating as our regular choice hotel) but on arrival we immediately concluded that the cleanliness of this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. A previous reviewer "DebsR18 reveiw 25/02/13 Great Family Holiday" might well from her description stayed in the same room as us. We felt the only maid service was to make the bed (which we do ourselves anyway) and top up the toilet rolls (maybe they knew something we didn't yet!!) we took a damp hand towel and with our foot mopped the floor with it, filthy! The corridor carpets....Filthy, maintenance men had obviously been doing some wall drill in the wall outside our room (509) before we arrived, the dust was still there when we left 6 days later.
Our stomach bug didn't strike until our last night, when my wife was so violently ill that i had to call the doctor €90, took a taxi to the 24hr chemist €15 to get a €13 prescription. We just about made the airport and are still recovering 5 days after returning home.
Yes, the staff are friendly, but that doesn't compensate the negatives. We too had problems getting a bottle of water from the bar, so I asked for 2 pints of water, my wife asked for 2 pints of water and we watched as the barman who refused to give us a bottle duly poured it into 4 pint plastic cups, stupid rule!!!
The manager was very high profile, always visible which is a good thing, but we will be returning to our normal hotel next time, giving this one a miss.
