“Our Stay 18th March - 15th April Very nice but,”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is a nice Hotel. Large clean rooms ,great staff .lovely pool & gardens, 5 mins from the beach, with bus stops right outside.these are the good points, During the winter months this is not a holiday hotel ,but a hostel for short stay students from all over the world, they come in coaches for 1 or 2 nights . the problem with this is that the food in the resturant was aimed at teenagers , and of very poor quality .We were there on a All inclusive board,The breakfast was ok , the lunch & evening meals were probibly the poorest quality food we have encountered in our 40 years of holidaying in the winter months. This is the only reason we would not return to this very nice Hotel.

Dear costumer,
Thank you for choosing the Hotel Royal Al-Andalus for your vacation. We regret that non enjoy the food, although the buffet offers a wide variety of hot and cold dishes that adapt the taste of most of our customers. Hope they change your opinion and give a new opportunity to our hotel.
Best regards.

This was my 1st holiday abroad with my children in a long time and we were all excited. The Hotel itself was lovely and the chaimbermaids were brilliant. It was just 5 minutes from the beach. The rest of the holiday was awful. There was a couple of staff who were very rude. We were all inclusive and got there at 10pm and was told there was no food and so we had to go out to an area we didn't know to find a restaurants that was open. We had bked 2 rooms as there was our 4 older children in 1 room and the rest of us in another and were put in rooms at the complete opposite ends of the hotel.
The pool bar was shut. There was only 3 evenings of 10 minute entertainment put on for children in the 10 days we were there. In fact, there was very little entertainment for all. There was only food at meal times. We had to go out of the resort to get an ice-cream! The food was awful. Apart from salad, you could barely make up a proper hot meal from the choice they put on.
Most of the people we spoke to felt the same and they too had been transferred from the Royal Costa. In my opinion, they decided to take us on board after the Costa was unable to open and so they should of been prepared to put on entetainment for all every evening, snacks all day such as icecream and the pool bar being open.
Will definately not visit this hotel again and not recomend it.

This is the second time me and my partner have stayed here, absolutely love it! It's clean, staff at reception are so friendly and the location is great! Last year we stayed July time so was obviously busier but it really didn't make a difference other than the pool bar being closed and having to walk inside to purchase drinks, not a problem! Breakfast is ok, plenty of choice and lovely coffee! Will be back again in summer!

we arrived on a sunday lunchtime, check in was quick, we found our room eventually after some confusion as numbers are out of order, room was large enough for the two of us, beds comfortable, spacious and room was overlooking pool, bathroom had 2 good sized sinks and a shower over bath, shower was great, nice and hot, bath /shower gel tubes in bathroom- good enough to have a bubble bath with, clean towels provided regularly, there is a safe deposit box in room, charge very reasonable with a refundable deposit , wardrobe spacious,
lifts available to all floors, staff were very friendly, we stayed from 24-31 march, the hotel was busy but not as busy as it would be in a summer season, the outside pool bar was not open and the entertainment lacked but as i said it was just before summer season, we were staying in this hotel as an all inclusive since we had been upgraded as the royal costa where we were originally staying was not going to open until a few weeks later, we got the impression that it is not normally an all inclusive hotel but the staff managed well, the bar was open 11am to 11pm for all inclusive and measures were of good measure, we were drinking, dark rum and coke, sangria ,wine, beer and coffee during our stay ,all locally produced, our only dissapointment was on the 6th day we were told sangria was no longer available on AI though it is a local drink, food was edible, though some people complained about it being repetitive, I am a finicky eater but found something to eat at all meal times, pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs , salad etc for breakfast, one morning we had sprouts, lunch was pork ,fish, potatoes, pasta etc and dinner was similar, puddings could have been a little bit better but was still enjoyable, - strawberry mousse, orange mousse, cake, rice pudding , plenty of fresh fruit, never saw any ice cream. all staff worked very hard, rooms and public areas kept very clean,
whilst we were there , there was a couple of groups of school kids staying, though they could be a little roudy at meal times, they did provide some entertainment with their dancing and mock foolery,
hotel is situated not far from the local beach, within 5 -10 minutes walk from hotel, train station is up the hill from hotel and serves malaga, and other local areas, rate was cheap, we tried the buses but found them to be busier than the trains, although entertaining with driver making sure everyone got on
we booked a trip to gibralta wiith the hotel at a cost 0f 96 euros for 2 adults, this was great and highly recommended
it was supposed to have wifi in the hotel but this was not working, when we stayed, found it disappointing as to use the internet was 4 euros for half hour, in the end we had to use internet cafe in town
snacks- did not have any, none readily available like in usual AL but it did us a favour as we didnt really need athem

Room Tip: we had room 152 , on first floor, overlooked pool, and got the sun

Thank you so much for an excellent stay with my group last week, the staff were so friendly and accommodating, the 4am coffee and rolls were very much appreciated by all! The gardens, even in the rain looked beautiful, i look forward to seeing them in the sun. Many thanks.

Room Tip: singles can be a little small, if you're a solo traveller would splash out on a twin room!

We first stayed here 3 or 5 years ago and were really pleased with everything. However, having just returned from a stay there things have gone terribly downhill. The worst part was the food. Not much to choose from and what was offered was poor quality and hardly hot. Believe me we were not the only ones complaining. There was not enough staff to keep the food replenished and we had to wait ages for more supplies. They ran out of crockery and the cups they brought out had only been rinsed and were still dirty. I understand that the management of this hotel has changed and are now Royal Premier. I say shame on you for taking our money and giving us such awful food. We didnt expect 5 star but it would have been nice to say we enjoyed our food. Ps brussel sprouts for breakfast and day old frankfurters chopped up in the rice. Not more I can say.

We welcome your comments to help us improve. We felt that the food was not to his liking this time, even though our service buffet offers a wide variety. We work every day to give the best service to our customers.
