“Ideal for what we wanted.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2011

Just returned from my 5th visit to this hotel. (There are 3 within this complex using each others facilities.) The reception staff in particular were very helpful and pleasant. Food was varied and plentiful. Rooms spotlessly clean and linen regularly changed. Being a winter holiday it is lovely to have a real log fire to welcome you in the comfortable lounge areas on colder days (around 15 degrees in winter ) There is live music every night. The rooms and bathrooms are well appointed and spotlessly kept This hotel is ideally located as there are nice flat walks along the promenade. All the staff were courteous and friendly. We'll be back......

From the USA we took our 2 17 year old granddaughters on holiday and stayed at the Pedro. It was a beautiful experience for all of us. Lovely older hotel, clean with very nice people staying there. Good staff. The food was more than adequate.

I am so glad that the vacation worked so well for you and that we could be part of it. As you say, we are an older hotel with traditional architecture. You really feel tht you are in Andalucía when you stay with us. It is importwnt to point out, however, that all the bedrooms and bathrooms have been recently renovated, and that in many facets we are very modern: most of our hot water is provided by solar power, all the rooms have flat-screen TVs and there is free WiFi available in all the rooms and common areas of the hotel complex. The roaring fire in the evenings is proper and old-fashioned though.
I hope that you all enjoyed the culture and cuisine of Torremolinos and Andalucia too. We are very well-located for excursions to Granada, Sevilla and Cordoba, as well as Gibraltar and Morrocco.

We were in a "superior" room. It was clean, had a minibar, a flatscreen and a bath. Wifi connection was not that great but free and useful nonetheless. The food (breakfast and diner) was great! A lot of choice everytime. The is obviously near the beach and walking to the centre of Torremolinos takes 20mins.
The interior of the hotel could be a bit more modern though but it had its charmes. For example: the bar was full of old chairs and sofa's but were still comfortable and there were 2 cozy fireplaces.

Thank you for your review. It is great to keep getting feedback and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. As you mention, we have a very traditional Andalucian decor which many guests love as it is hard to find nowadays. If you are looking for something more modern, the Sol Don Marco in the same complex has a very chilled zen-style atmosphere. You still have the same use of the beautiful large gardens, spa and 9 pools.
Thanks again.

I strongly recommend this hotel for people who (like me) looking for good facility for reasonable price. Great food, very good location, nice people (is that a standard in Spain?:)

Although we had to wait for our room when we arrived the reception staff were really helpful and we were soon checked in. Hotel is really clean and the entertainment staff are fantastic, they remembered us from a visit a couple of years back. There is something for everyone one at the restaurant so you never go hungry. Have use of the facilities from the other hotels, which includes the Spa at the Don Marco. Loved using the outdoor jacuzzi - and although a couple in the party were ill this was from a snack bar on the front.

OK! If you are planning to sleep past 7 am, on any given day...then forget about it!! It feels like you are sleeping in a cardboard box! The soundproofing is terrible, the room doors have no slowing mechanism(cylinder), you constantly hear the doors slamming, all day long! When housekeeping is doing the rooms, its just like a herd of wild boars passing through the hallway. This is not a romantic getaway destination.
When we booked for our honeymoon, they told us that we will be getting a bottle of champagne, which we did...after three days! We asked for the bottle on two different occasions, when that did not work, we asked our airline representative at the hotel, then finally we got the bottle.
Another thing thats annoying, is the live band that plays outside until midnight! You are already sleep deprived, because of all the morning commotion, on top of that, you have no choice but to listen to the music.
It would be unfair to only write negative comments. The hotel is less than 60 seconds away from the beach. Its clean, with nice swimming pools. The decor and furniture is out dated, but if you are over 50, than you might like it! But seriously, this is not a destination for young couples, 90% of the tourist population is over 50 years old. It feels like you are in a retirement home.
The vegetation and the garden is nice. The staff is generally very courteous, especially Mr.Deepak, the front desk clerk.
The area in general is a tourist trap, this is not the real Spain, there are more English pubs on the beach, than in England! The official language is German and English. The local population hardly speaks english(the universal language).
To conclude, I recommend to travellers under 35, to find another destination along the beach, maybe Benalmadena area or further down alond the coast. For the rest, it will be enjoyable.

The hotel is in a great location the place is very clean the staff at the desk and bar were very nice. Pools were very good as was the car parking and wifi. However let down by the dated look of the place circa 1985. the wating staff in the cafeteria need lessond in adding as they got the tabs wrong nearly all the time and in there favour as well????? and the buffet was not very good compared to other hotels we have stayed in. The hot food was cold which is simple to rectify, too many things which lead to some of them not being up to standard. poor fresh fruit and while there was a dress code posted it was not enforced so when you went upstairs before dinner to change in a pair of slacks and shirt you felt stupid when others didn't bother and it made no difference.
