“Comfortable Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

Stayed at hotel but only ate breakfast. Room was comfortable and maid service excellent.
There was sufficient at breakfast to satisfy all appetites.
Hotel was starting to show it's age but pool area was good with excellent reception staff.
Bar was on the expensive side but was comfortable.
Location of the hotel is good being opposite the beach and not far from the steps to the centre.

Room Tip: Depending on whether you want the sun most of the day better to choose sea and pool view.

Dear oldkirkstroller,
Many thanks for your review and for choosing the Sol Don Pedro. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your comments.
I would like to add that all the rooms in the Don Pedro have been renovated over the last few years but that the hotel maintains it's old-fashioned Andalucian style. The Don Marco, which is part of the same complex has a more modern flavour for those who prefer it.
I hope that we might see you again in the future.
Thanks again for your review.
Kind regards,
Jaime Floyer.

We have just returned from a weeks half board stay at the Sol Don Pedro.
There are pros and cons to this hotel. Firstly there is no way it is a 4 star hotel, it's more like a 3 star in all honesty.
The staff were pleasant and friendly though, the room was tidy, big and the bed comfortable and the cleaners cleaned regularly. The pool areas were clean and relaxing which was nice. It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach too. The gardens are lovely and well kept and there are birds tweeting away in a big aviary in one of the gardens.

The food is of average standard, but reasonable. Some of the food was found to be lukewarm on many occasions which was off putting and there didn't appear to be much variety to the menu. Also there appeared to be a lack of direction and disorganisation in the dining room, unlike other hotels on the Costa where hotel staff have directed us to a newly set table. We fended for ourselves and on 3 occasions we had to change the cutlery as dirty cutlery had been set. Be aware of noise in general and some late night noise due to inconsiderate guests banging their room doors on entry and exit, also the soundproof is not so good, you will hear other guests/tv in their rooms at times. We didn't use the fitness centre or spa so unable to comment further.

Overall, this hotel is not too bad, but it's average. We wouldn't stay here again as we would rather pay a bit more and stay in a better hotel. It may suit other holiday makers though, but unfortunately it's not for us.

This was my second visit to this hotel stayed Mon to Fri beginning of may. I can not fault this hotel had everything we needed, rooms clean and lovely shower, sunny balcony we were on 2nd floor view over car park and garden and got sun in afternoon/evening. Free air con and maid cleaned every day and replaced towels if you wanted. We were on half board and the food was great so much choice both at breakfast and evening meal. The bread was so lovely and fresh and still warm some mornings. No kettle in room but did have a fridge, safe in wardrobe which you pay for at reception but we did not use. Great location right opposite beach and promenade with lovely walks and lovely pool areas and plenty of sunbeds to choose from. There were plenty of activities daytime and evening entertainment if you want to participate. You could get train from airport or a transfer which is quite cheap but was going to pick us up too early so we used hotel reception to order taxi 20 Euros and only took 15 minutes and meant we spent extra couple of hours in the sun
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back again the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Ask for Sunny balcony

Spent a week here in Febuary trying to relax, for a hotel full of old people you would expect some peace and quiet but this was not the case, people having there tv on past 11pm, people standing outside our room after 10pm talking very loudly and the same when walking down the corridors, totally inconsiderate guests, the staff were very loud while trying to have a sleep in the afternoon having a cleaner put on the tv, the cleaners dont talk but rather than walk to another member of staff they choose to shout at someone 20 metres away. Was toold the law says people can make as much noise as they want until midnight and hotel couldnt do anything about it, I lived in Spain and this is the case for homeowner but a hotel can set there own rules. The pool always had towels on sunbeds even though there were siigns in 4 languages saying not too. Good choice of food. Seemed to be full of one nationality at the time who liked the sound of there own voices.

just returned form a week at Don Pedro.Had a really great time. The hotel is spotlessly clean through out.The two dining rooms are first class, with wide variety of excellent food to suit everyone. There is bubbly with breakfast if you wish ,and yummy pancakes.all served up by excellent friendly staff.sharing facilities there is the choice of several excellent swimmingpools. Our room was basic but clean ,but balcony situation was disapointing not very good views and not having a sunny aspect. would recommend this hotel to anyone. location is excellent.

Don pedro is inter connected with don Pablo and don marco. I would go back again, we were in a standard room which was quite basic but very clean. Couldn't fault the food, we were half board and choice of food was excellent. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Plenty of pools and loads of sun beds. The hotel is across the road from the beach and handy to get the train to and from the airport. Torremolinos itself was a lovely resort spotlessly clean. Look forward to going back but def on half board as resort quite expensive. Overall although I wouldn't give the don pedro 4 stars it is still a nice hotel

First stay at Don Pedro, around Easter. Classically traditional Spanish hotel interior and décor, very clean and well-maintained, rooms attractively decorated and furnished; we had room 558 which had a modern walk in shower and flat screen TV. Food in restaurant offered lots of choice at breakfast and dinner, all was well-prepared and set out. Busy but not chaotic. Staff welcoming and polite throughout, good mix of pools and spaces on the site shared with other Don hotels. Well located across the road from the beach. Preferred the - smaller and traditional - Don Pedro to the Pablo - which is bigger and more modern - but other guests may prefer the Marco or Pablo rooms and public areas. Overall, probably the best bet we have found in Torremolinos in style, quality of food and general good service. Well worth a second visit - like us we are set to be there again on two more occasions this year - and that's a good recommendation.

Room Tip: There is a variety of rooms at the Pedro. Some have pool views - probably the better rooms - others...
