“LOVELY HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

first holiday in costa del sol , i decided to stay in the DonPedro because of the good reviews, and i was not disappointed The hotel is in beautiful grounds just off the beach, the staff were very pleasant and the food was very good. You have a few pools to chose from as you can use the facilities of the Pablo and Marco but we chose to use the one outside of the Pedro resturant as it was in lovely gardens and very peaceful .Will definately be staying at DonPedro again next time i visit Torremolinos,

The Sol Don Pedro was a lovely older type hotel compared to the other two hotels on the complex. We were allocated a room on arrival for my family of four including two children aged 11 an 14 on entering our room we were all pleasantly surprised it was actually two room connected by a interconnecting door with two bathroom, two tvs an two air con units. The hotel facilities were excellent, plenty of lovely clean swimming pools to choose from and the beach was literally across the road, Great evening entertainment on the nights we did stayed in the hotel as Toromolins has lots of café/bars which are all within walking distance of the hotel an to top it off the weather was fantastic all week. We will be going back next year.

I returned yesterday from Torremolinos and was pleasantly surprised by Sol Don Pedro hotel. The staff are friendl and polite. We were given a room (24) on the ground floor with direct access to the fresh water pool. The room was very clean and was cleaned daily. The towels were changed daily also. The grounds, both inside and out were also clean and well kept. The breakfast buffet was great, lots of choice.
There are 3 Sol Don Hotels all right beside each other, so you can use the facilities in any of the hotels The beach was literally accross the road from the hotel.
We ate luch and dinner at the restaurants along the strip. Every meal was perfect and cost 30-40 euros for two people.
The taxi cost 20 euros from/to the Airport.
This was a perfect last minute short break, we plan to return soon.

this is a particularly poor hotel, reception stank of cigarettes, and service was very slow even by holiday standards!!! by comparison to other 4 star, it is really lagging behind.
Food very basic, if you are considering staying here, don't think about full board, the breakfast is most basic with ridiculous queues for poor food. No juices, poorly watered or rancid fluids, and the coffee ran out regularly.
Selection of breads was ok so you could fill up on this. Lunch was awful, no choice, ok enough for kids, ie pizza, pasta. No teas or coffee, and the deserts deplorable.

Dear brackenireland,
Thank you for taking time to write about your experience at the Don Pedro. I am very sorry that you were so disappointed.
As with all hotels is Spain, smoking is only permitted in a limited number of designated guest bedrooms and not in any of the public spaces. I have never experienced anyone smoking in reception although obviously I canot deny that it would be possible for someone to walk in from teh garden with a cigarette. As regards stinking of cigarettes, I can't find any foundation for that suggestion.
I am sorry that you did not like the restaurant. I realise that everyone has their own expectations but feel that the label of "basic" could be misleading. There are 75 different products in the breakfast alone, including sparkling wine, hot and cold breakfasts, peeled fruits and dietary options for diabetics and coeliacs.
Thanks again for your time. I am sorry that you were disappointed.
Kind regards,

I arrive for a short stay at the hotel with my mother for just two night, I had not stayed in this group of three hotels before but a friend had been there three times and seemed to enjoy the stays him and his wife had there. My mother specially liked the appearance of the hotel as it has some Spanish features, eg, wooden ceiling beams etc. When we booked in, the company we had made the booking through had not passed on my request for a walk in shower for my mother who has trouble climbing into to a bath. The receptionist immediately allocated us a room suitable for someone with difficulties walking, ie, walk in shower cubicle, support handles etc, this suited us very well. We found the food in the hotel to be very good, varied choices, the food was also cooked fresh and was not left standing for hours. The first night there was an excellent choice of different meats including my favourite, lamb. The breakfast was not quite as good, very greasy bacon and sausages swimming around is some kind of odd cloudy liquid. We found that our fellow guests in the hotel were all older people, there were very few children at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the location was very central.

Room Tip: If possible and if you are wanting an early night, go for a room on the outer end of the hotels and...
