“Just back this week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Just returned from a three generation family holiday (with teenagers!) and was quite worried when I read the reviews for this hotel. I can only say that all of us had a great time, everything was clean, and on time and, apart from the constant hassle to get a sunbed, we have no complaints.
We were all inclusive and yes there was repetition in the food available but unless you were going to have a bit of everything at every meal, there is loads to choose from. The only downside for us was the entertainment. It was definitely planned for an elderly crowd but everything outside was so close by that the younger ones in our party had plenty other choices to keep them entertained.

Room Tip: blocks 2 or 3 on sunny side have sun on balcony all day. Try to avoid block 1 as this seems to be w...

Dear grannieheather,
I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide the hotel feedback on your recent stay with us. Customer feedback is essential to the hotel, ensuring the hotel team can continually improve hotel services and offerings.

With regards to your comment about the activities, I want to inform you that we have activities throughout the year but it is true that if you want activities for teenagers is better to come from middle of June until middle September. During this poeriod we have a very full Activities Programme where you can find many activities for all the family. For this reason, we hope to see you again next summer.

All our love from Sol Aloha Puerto,
Carmen Mª Rodríguez, Guests Experience Manager.

Just returned back from a weeks holiday (before the busy half-term) at Sol Aloha Puerto that would be out 4th or 5th visit to this hotel.
Stayed in block 3 sunny side (paid extra) on a high floor, rooms are very big with a lounge area and sofa that makes into a bed if 3/4 are in the same room, big tv, balcony over looking the marina and sea.
Food very good, although it did seem to be near enough the same every night.
Now, sunbeds...I looked at the clock at 6/7am (pitch black) one morning and heard clattering outside, went out onto the balcony and low and behold, people reserving sunbeds! By 8am all the sunbeds will have gone and this was not in school holidays either. So sunbed lovers set your alarm clocks for about 5am and you should be fine!
The hotel is in a fantastic location just a walk past the pool and down a ramp or steps then your staight onto the carihuela with plenty of shops/bars/cafes and just go down a few steps and your onto the beach and a little walk away and your in the lovely marina with resturants and more shops. The only 2 bad things now...(1) A plug in the room was coming away from the wall which would be quite dangerous.
(2) The pool looked like it could do with a right good clean, I'm not quite sure if it was dirty tiles or just dirt floating about.
The hotel has very friendly staff and waiters in the resturant. The man in the resturant remembered us from last year!

Just returned from a 6 day stay, same complaints as most, not able to get near a sunbed, even though most of the stupid people put towels on them and then went out all day ! ! Sunbeds on the beach are a lot more comfortable than the ones at the hotel and indeed much more comfortable than the beds in the hotel rooms. We stayed in room 5303 it was like sleeping on concrete, cheap nasty mattresses that ruined the holiday, we even resorted to getting the sofa bed out which was a little better. Small cockroaches in the bathroom on two nights. Staff on reception very surely and one night in the bar my husband asked for two cocktails and got tutted at as if it was to much trouble ! Will not be returning, shame because with a few changes could be a lovely hotel in a very good location !

We have just returned from this hotel and all we can say is it is a lovley, The room was spotless and the maids were really good, And the food is some of the best we have had also we so a gentleman everyday walk round and try the plates were hot and that the food was hot, The new lift down to the pool is great and so is the entrace hall, The only fault with this hotel is that people must creep down in the night and put towels on the sunbeds. We went out at say 10am and had a walk to the marina for a couple of hours then had a coffee in the pool snack bar and still no one had come to the sunloungers with the towels on,, People did complain about this carry on but nothing was done day after day, It did spoil an excellent hotel. People who say its a bad hotel I just dont know how or what they do at home and as for food well 4of us really enjoyed the half board,,,, Then we had a coach trip to Gibralter and we didnt have a mintues trouble straight in and coming out we drove straight out, Coaches now have a new coaches only lane,

Room Tip: We had the third floor rooms 1302 and 1303

Stayed for 9 nights at this hotel. Must say never had any trouble finding a sunbed at all during our stay, The hotel is lovely and clean and in a great location right on the beach. We had a sea view facing the marina so got the sun all day. The food was very good always a great selection, sometimes could have been a bit warmer but apart from that no problems. We really enjoyed our stay only down side is the terrible cruiz campo beer they sell, we went out at night as theirs plenty of bars around the hotel. Thanks to all the staff for a really great holiday,

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view in block 3

Stayed here 6th Oct for 5 nights, did the same dates last year, bit worried the Hotel might of gone down hill abit with all inclusive being an option, but there was no problems, we were half board and the food was has good has last year, still great choices and plenty of it, found the staff all friendly if you make an effort with them, same problems as last year regarding sunbeds, you need to be up at the crack of dawn to aquire one, but i prefer the beach so wasn't to bothered about that issue, prehaps they should start charging to use lol, stayed in block three had emailed the Hotel 3 times for high floors, got no replies and got 2nd floor, still nice views, but better marine views on higher floors, we were on the 8th floor last year, rooms were spotless and spacious. The Hotel seems to have alot of returning visitors, there was a lot of people there who were staying last year, so it must be doing something right, can't comment on the entertainment, went out every night, but the bar lounge was always full, all in all enjoyed our stay once again and maybe might just visit again next year.

Room Tip: High floors sunny side block two or three.

Just returned from a 9 day holiday.
Fortunately the weather was around 25/ 30 degres every day with unbroken sunshine.
The location is first class- on the seafront near Benalmadena marina - 5 mins walk on the prom.
The food is of good quality with a good selection. Excellent fish selection and different roatsts every night. Very pleasant dining on the terrace.Drinks are a problem - they are literally twice the price of the local bars and restaurants. Suggest an all inclusive package.
Plenty of daily activities, evening entertainment varied from very good to indifferent. Quite a few people just booked B.& B. as there are good selection of bars and restaurants right outside- including indian and chinese, In fact I had a 3 course lunch in the chinese ( very good) for 4-85 euros. Also a large selection of bars .
The bus stop is right outside, together with a taxi rank. The bus timetable is very flexible- You get one when it arrives - every half hour. Un fortunately the bus only goes to Torremolinos and stops in between.
For the first 6 days ,it was impossible to get a lounger - people must have been putting their towels out in darkness. I gave up.
I was allocated a room in block 1. No sunshine at any time of day and views of concrete.
I upgraded to block 2- at a supplement of 10 euros a day. Sun on balcony all day.
Worth paying extra for with great views of sea / prom /marina./mountains.
Ensure you get floor 5 and upwards for best views.
I think Ireland must have been closed, they all seemed to be there.
Met people who return year after year. I.n not so sure.
A lot of older staff with an indifferent attitude, particularly bar staff.
The rooms are quite large with a separate lounge area. fridge and aircon -good.

Room Tip: Block 2, floor 5 upwards- sea view side
