“Perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

It was a shakey start to our 4 night break because we were allocated room 2002, a ground floor tired room which had a broken patio door lock and paper peeling from the walls. After complaining, we were told the hotel was fully booked so we could not be moved to a non ground floor junior suite room which we had initially paid extra for. The following morning the reception staff redeemed themselves being reallocating us to room 3906, a suite with a fantastic sea view.

The daily buffet breakfast was excellent ranging from; full English cooked food, ham, cheese, fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, cakes, fruit juice, tea and coffee.

Unfortunately the evening entertainment left a little to be desired, tailored towards the more mature guests. Fortunately the location was perfect, a matter of metres from a number of excellent bars, restaurants, the marina and a beautiful sandy beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and would happily revisit and recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: Avoid room 2002

We had 6 days,4 beautiful sunny days,on the beach, don't think your going to sit at the pool forget it very badly designed and not enough room for all the people staying at the hotel.Food average, staff could be more friendly.Whoever refurnished the hotel did not take into account the fact that when they built the stage for shows you have a VERY LARGE post in the middle, stupid.shows are very poor,The room was very good and kept clean with new towels and sheets everyday.
All in All would we go back,NO.Plenty of hotels to choose from in the area.

Room Tip: first floor

We arrived 3rd Sept very late evening, too late for food, and not offered any refreshments at all. We were allocated a room vertually in the basement of the building, and in what we considered a vunerable position. We decided this room was not suitable and went back to reception and requested to be moved, the man said the hotel was full, and as we were only on a short break it was a promo room??? I insisted and eventually we were given room 1114, it was nice with decent view from lounge area, but we were unable to open curtains in bedroom, as we were looking down into a well where all the workmens tools and rubbish were stored. The dining room on our only visit for breakfast was so full and noisy, we retreated and ate our breakfast at a cafe on Carihuella each morning., and ate out each night after trying it once. The position of the hotel is brilliant, very near to the Marina, one way and all the activity to the left. The food on the whole wasnt too bad but not brilliant. We still enjoyed the trip and i am going back for a month in March 2013..,

Junior suite was good size.We had half board and the food was very good.hotel is very clean and staff are friendly.the pool area was always busy ,but its worth walking a few seconds to the beach beds in front of chiringuito rafael (great food) and spending all day by the sea . We did this every day from 10 til 7.sometimes we had lunch in hotel instead of dinner,it was always good. A short stroll takes you into the port which is much quieter than in past years. Only drawback is if your room is near the front as in by the entrance you can hear some of the awful English bars until late, but I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Get room nearer beachfront or pool.less noise from English bars on little back road.

We arrived at the hotel at 10 00am, but our room was not ready until 13.30 But it wasn't a problem, we just sat in the sun had a drink and waited.
Great Location, right on the beach a short walk to the Benalmadena Marina ( beautiful ) there, plenty of shops and bars
We had a nice bedroom n bathroom with shower over bath, which i found a bit difficult, to get in and out of ,as i suffer with bad knees, it's time all hotels got rid of their baths. we also had a seperate lounge area, which was comfy.we also had BBC1 on our Telly
The Staff are very miserable, they need to learn to smile
Food was very good
There are a lot of Ants around the room, and one morning they were on my pillow,i told reception and they sent a can of Raid up to our room

Room Tip: We were told while there to ask for block 3 view of sea and pool, We were on 7th floor number 1706...

Beautiful hotel located a hop skip and a jump from the beach ,wheelchair friendly so it suits all. Staff are helpful and friendly only drawback is the slow check in and that may have to do with computer system not the actual staff. The rooms are clean and spacious for two and maintained well everyday. The food is great an absolutely superb choice for every nationality hot or cold they have it all. You can eat as little or as much as you like. A nice big inner dining room and also a very spacious outdoor one. Small pool bar , cheap and cheerful food during the day to keep you going again very well maintained. The location is the best as it is simply on the beach with a beautiful flat promenade right or left for as long as you want to walk and also just round the corner from the port . This hotel is great for a quiet family break or a golden year break not for the young and lively. will return again

Myself & mum have just arrived home from the sol aloha , we had a brilliant time . I booked this last minute for a 4 night break so wasnt to sure what to expect from this hotel i got a good room rate with bed & breakfast . We were happy with every thing from this hotel from our spacious room with sea view , location , service from staff , food .
Firstly ill start with breakfast , this was excellent such a large choice from full english , fruits & cereals , continental breakfast , freshly made omlettes you definatly wouldnt go hungry we enjoyed it very much .
Our room was spotlessly clean towels changed daily , it was spacious inside with separate living area , Only down side i would say is the room doesnt have a kettle so we bought one from the shop opposite for 20 euro .
Evening entertainment i cant really comment on as we didnt come bk to the hotel till quite late although from guests we spoke too its ok .
One thing i did find with this hotel being a parent there wasnt hardly any children there found it was mostly over 50's , i would also imagine if you did take children there they could be quite bored im sure mine would have been .
All in all though i cant fault this hotel they were helpful with all my requests even letting us keep our room till 6pm on the day we left , The hotels location is ideal directly on the beach and prominade.
Benalmadena harbour is lovely we enjoyed many lovely dinners & cocktails there whilst looking at the boats , I'd got back in a shot & would stay at sol aloha but maybe just me & my partner not with my children

Room Tip: get a sea view room its a lovely sight to wake up to
