“Fab hotel and lovely resort :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

I stayed at the hotel with my boyfriend from 25th July - 1st August 2013. The hotel looks lovely from the outside and the reception area and lobby is immaculate and modern. The reception staff was friendly and quickly checked us in. The room was a little bit dated but again was immaculate. The bed was hard and the one pillow was flat but after asking reception for a spare pillow we soon received this within the hour left in our room. I did not have a problem with sleeping all week and the air con is amazing as it was extremely hot all week and kept our room very cool. The lifts are the only downside they are very slow and with only 4 lifts not enough for the 9+ floors. Being on the 5th Floor and 109 stairs to climb up you needed a lift mind you this burnt our dinner off keep walking up and down the stairs. We were facing the square and shops which was no problem there was no noise during the evening. We did not have a problem with sun beds managed to get one every day after 9am there were no queues but don’t expect to get a sun bed if you decide to go to the pool midday it’s pretty obvious there would be none left. Fab idea of getting a lifegaurd to monitor each sunbed to make sure it was being used! The food there was plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner I am a fussy eater but always found something and yes it does sometimes get repeated but this is the same as every hotel I have ever stayed at abroad. The hotel is immaculate cleaners do a fab job, staff at pool bar and inside bar always polite and friendly. Not a problem with the plastic cups surely this is safer then glass ones which you could quite easly cut yourself if they were left around the pool. The resort itself is lovely lots of little shops and the walk down to the beach at night is highly recommended the resort is so lively in the evenings. I would recommend a trip to Malaga lovely place. The trains are excellent and very cheap used these to and from airport and to get to Malaga. After reading some of the reviews before i went i wasn't expecting that much but had a fab time highly recommend this hotel. The only reason I give it a 4 is the lifts and lack of entertainment in the evening although this was not a big deal for me but could be a issue if you wanted to stay in the hotel in the evening. I have decided that people on here just like a good moan about pointless things (numbers on coat hangers for instant) so you need to decide for your self so hopefully this review will change people's perceptions.

We have just stayed at this hotel for 9 nights. A typical huge all inclusive hotel, which was not what we expected. The AC in our room didn't work properly during our stay, the toilet didn't stop flushing. Even if we contacted the reception several times, it didn't improve. We could never use the lifts, always taken. We never stayed at the pool area, to noisy and crowded. Next time we will avoid these kind of all inclusive hotels.

I'm just back from staying at this hotel with a friend and we found it very pleasant. The entrance at the back of the hotel led right on to a lively street which was great for accessibility but as some rooms were directly above, I would suggest requesting a sea view room.
After reading reviews about requesting a high floor we did so and our 4th floor sea view room gave us little disturbance from the streets below. The room was spacious for two and the balcony was great. The beds were quite hard and the pillows were thin but we got used to it after a night.
We were on a B&B basis and I can't complain about breakfast for there was so much choice - hot and cold. On a few occassions we drank at the bar and it was cheap with nice bar staff.
The outdoor pool area was nice but I would recommend lounging on the 9th floor next to the indoor pool as there are outdoor loungers and its much more quiet than the ground pool area.
The decor was nice, friendly staff and in a great location to explore so I would definitely recommend it to others.

Had mixed feeling about this place before visiting due to previous comments been bad but hotel was extremely central and very good value for money! The negatives for me were not enough staff on at the pool bar the first couple of days were ok as the school holidays had just begun and was just starting to get busy but by the end of the week it was heeving round the pool during the day ! Lots of Spanish at this hotel which was ok with us !we were all inc and there's No ice creams or Lollys at pool bar on all inc which we have had at previous hotels which were also all inc so
Slightly disappointing for the kids , we travelled as a group of 10 with a few kids between families , sunbeds were hard to get but we always managed 4 at a time , not a bad idea had by the life guard who came round and left a warning note on your bed if he had noticed you had missing an hour and left a time note on your bed if u out stayed the time he removed your towels , this was stressful for some but great for the ones who really wanted beds ! I'm a vodka drinker and the vodka was not nice I ended up buying in a bottle to have a tipple with all inc soft drinks , it was all cheap spirits and the cocktails were a no no , the English in the hotel spent the week finding something they could drink this was quite funny !! We never had a hangover put it that way ! On the plus side the food was frag and a good variety on the whole , it does get a little tedious after a few days but we stuck it out we did eat out a few times also and the Spanish garden on the outskirts 6 euro taxi from the hotel was fantastic bistro style food but larger portions very very nice ! The all inc drink finished at 11 , the kids club called bee club was fan it had a bouncy castle , a DVD room colouring in things , footballs comfy pillows to lie in cinema style room the kids loved it and if u got a table above the stairs from it the lady was quite happy for you to let the kids play in there alone as long as she knew you were at top of stairs ! The rooms were immaculate and as a frequent traveller certainly not the worst I've stayed in , the lifts need looking it you could never Be in a rush !
Over all had a fab holiday , make sure you take a stroll along the beach front take the lift down for 1 euro return or scenic route down quaint stairs shopped either side but a steep return ! There are fab restaurants And bars , for the young or those who appreciate the finer things in life the playa Miguel beach bar is a hive of activity during the day with day beds on the beach and waiter service and fab food and cocktails on a nite ( Ibiza style ) would defiantly visit the area again !!!

The hotel is located a block away from the pedestrian walking street which leads to the beach in 10 minutes. The reception area and the dining area are big. There was sufficient variety at both the buffet breakfast and the buffet dinner. The room is of a decent size but the bath towels were slightly small. Beach towels are available for rent at reception subject to a 10-Euro deposit per towel. The balcony is quite big. There were insufficient lifts (only 4 as far as I could tell) so had to wait very long to get up and down. There is no free wifi.

Recently stayed at the Cervantes for 4 nights. Was impressed with the style & entrance of the hotel. The room itself was good with the all important aircon. We stayed as part of all inclusive package. The food was good although quite repetitive. The biggest disappointment was the drinks which all seem to be really watered down especially the spirits! The staff were ok not particularly helpful or friendly.

The main negative is the pool is really quite small for the number of guests. There is a rooftop pool but this enclosed and isn't great. Obtaining a sunbed is hard work also.

The location was pretty good and is 5-10min walk to the beach and 2mins from a lot of restaurants and some bars.

Benalmedana is about 20mins away in a taxi and is about 8-10euros.

All in all a decent hotel, but i wouldn't recommend for family with small children etc.
