“Not very welcoming.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

Visited whilst on holiday in october.after reading reviews on tripadvisor we booked a table but did not feel it was necessary as restaurant was quiet. We weren't made to feel very welcome on arrival. Three of us had 10 euro menu and i paid an 8 euro supplement for prawn starter and steak. Prawns were reheated breaded frozen variety very poor, steak was nice but certainly nothing to rave about. 10 euro menu was okay , but there is much better restaurants in area. Would not return as owner/waitress wasn't very welcoming.

“good home cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

But not a dining experience – and that’s not to be overly-critical.

Kate’s Cottage is not pretending to be a restaurant with white tablecloths, etc. – it’s just doing good value home cooking. Service was very good – friendly, and very accommodating of us getting lost on the way (had to phone a couple of times - it’s actually on the border of Benelmadena and Torremolinos rather than in Torremolinos itself).

Food was really good – just good home cooking. Nothing pretentious – just hearty food.

“Book a table”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

We tried to eat here as from the outside looked welcoming when entered a half empty restaurant awaits with a lady asking if we have booked off course we hadn't as we rarely do on holiday but did not think it would be an issue with there being plenty empty tables but we where told very matter of factly you had to book!! To be honest if restaurants in this day of age can turn business away they must be over charging for there food as I can't see how empty tables make money!! Needless to say we found other much busier restaurants happy to seat us and take our money!!
