“A Lovely 4* Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Just stayed on a B&B basis for one week in this Super Hotel and can Honestly say My Husband & Myself came back feeling Relaxed & Refreshed the Hotel is Spotlessley Clean the Staff are Efficent, Proffesional and Discreet.
A Sea View is a must for us and Every Room at the Melia has this which makes the Location perfect for us, Also the Lift up to Torromolinos Town is just out of the Hotel and Turn Left and cost 50c per person which will save you a long walk up the steps and is well worth it.
But back to the Hotel - Breakfast is served untill 11.00 am every day and the Reastaurant is very Modern and Clean and Food was of a Higher Standard than the Usual Buffet options on offer in most Hotels, Hot Coffee & Hot Milk is brought to your Table or you can choose to use the Machines if you prefer, Sparkling Wine was available every day at Breakfast and also all eggs are cooked to order and the Chef's soon get to know what you like. We also used the Gasto Pub for Evening Meals and found this to be excellent as well - if a lit bit expensive.
Our Room was cleaned to a very high standard every day and had clean good quality Bedding & Towels every day, also the free WiFi worked very well and the fully carpeted rooms and corridors helped keep noise levels to a minimum and there are a couple of English TV Channels available should you require them, also a decent Hairdyer and Bottle Opener in the Bathroom and a well stocked Minibar with reasonable prices. what more could you want, we will definatley be returning to this establishment.
Forgot to mention the Bed's which are some of the most comfortable i have every slept in.
Can't comment on the Spa & Gym as we never used it - we were too Busy enjoying our Holiday!

Room Tip: All rooms have a Sea View

This was our second visit. We booked a junior suite which was spacious and had a huge balcony and great views to the sea sand beyond. We can't really fault this hotel as it is excellent value for money. We also stay at its sister Melia hotels in Marbella and the brand is consistently top quality in terms of decor and service as well as amenities and food. Recommended

Room Tip: Try sunny side building

This hotel is a large hotel and it looks a bit ugly from the outside but the classy looking decor inside makes up for that. As I was there for 4 nights prior to Christmas the festive decorations were absolutely beautiful in the public areas. The room was a standard one and was spacious, clean & comfortable. the free wi fi worked without a hitch and that was welcome. There was a mini bar with space in it to store some items of your own.

Amazing view from the balcony over the road (which was quiet as it is a terminus there) to the beach & sea - you could clearly hear the waves lapping onto the shore all night because as the balcony wasn't connected to any other, I felt safe leaving the balcony doors open all night - yes it was lovely & warm in December!! My balcony on the top floor had the sun most of the day!
I was a middle aged woman travelling solo and I felt so safe in this hotel. the staff were welcoming and helpful in every area. I received a lovely greeting from reception which really made me happy.

Later on when I somewhat nervously ventured down to the La Proa bar/restaurant to see if I could find myself a nice glass of rosado wine, I was welcomed by the bar manager/head waiter like a VIP. I was shown to a table and my glass of wine accompanied by a martini glass full of large olives was presented with a flourish. They offered me a food menu (even though it was after 10.30pm) and were extremely attentive, it was quiet in there so they could look after me well, but I was left with the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble. It was such a pleasant experience I went in there every night of my stay!!

Breakfast was taken in the larger main restaurant and again a lovely greeting and attentive service from the staff in there. Fantastic choice of food & drinks and your eggs are cooked to order. There was even sparkling wine available and I was almost tempted to give it a try.

You have to pay for car parking in the hotel car parks but I got a free space in the parking spaces on the road outside. However you do not need a car here. Great location for the beach obviously, some nice restaurants very close by. You have to go up a lot of steps to get to the town centre (walks off some of the carbs from the breakfast pastries!!) but there is a public lift. It is a ten minute walk to town and a further 5 minutes to the train station in Torremolinos for the train straight into Malaga (20 mins) which stops at the airport en route. Once again the hotel reception staff were so helpful giving me directions and local information including maps & museum information for Malaga.

I particularly liked the fact that it felt like a very international hotel and not full of British people. It is an absolute gem for the price.

Would I go again? I have already booked a long weekend there. I can't wait to go back!!

The hotel was superb, spotlessly clean, very new and modern inside, Our room was gorgeous, couldnt fault it, regular clean towels and bedding, The safe was free, first time ive ever come across that. We requested a nice view on a high floor, sun facing and thats what we got.Spectacular view. I think all rooms have got a sea view,The staff were all really nice,The breakfast was fine, the hotel is not geared for the English, There were a few comments about not having kellogs cornflakes, we are in Spain thats why, Also there was fresh fruit, Maybe no poached eggs, but there were boiled, freshly made omelettes scrambled and fried, Also if you asked they would do one on the griddle.Dont know what some people expect. If you take a left out of the hotel walk up till you see a large orange ball take a left and veer left till you see steps and you will find a lift taking you up to the old town, 50 cents each. There are lots of small streets with bars and restaurants, Lots of places are not open until 31st March. If you go to the rt out of the hotel it is a lovely walk to Carhuella and Benalmadena. Buses are very cheap. Mijas is a beautiful place up the mountain, We had sun every day, It does get cool in the evenings and it is not swimming pool weather, take a warm coat, would reccomend the Melia to everyone.

Room Tip: ask for a high floor we were on 6th, and sun facing.

We spent Christmas here and loved it. I got the impression that the hotel has recently been refurbished because it was very smart and very clean. It is in 2 blocks and all rooms have a view of the sea. We asked for a high floor and were given one. This is not a hotel geared towards the English which we loved. Very good buffet breakfast and evening meal. We dined in the main restaurant every night as we were on half board and there weren't any restrictions on what you could eat as stated in a previous review. The only nitpick I had is that you weren't given a tea/coffee after the meal so we went into the cafe within the hotel to have one.
Also, beware the parking fees if you have a car. When we arrived the car was taken off us and parked in the hotel carpark which was charged at 11 euros a day. We took ours out and parked outside after one day as there were plenty of spaces, although I expect in Summer this would be different. All in all we loved it at this hotel and will be returning.

This hotel was very clean and the view from the room was amazing even though we did not have a room in the higher floors. Unfortunately we did not have much of time to explore the amenities that the hotel offered but from what we have experienced, we do recommend this hotel and hope to come back someday soon.

Stayed for two nights at the end of November 2012. The hotel (and the whole town) was very quiet. Lovely room with sea view. Good bathroom. Wi fi (free) worked well inside room. Good selection of foreign language TV channels.

Breakfast buffet, excellent, taken in main dining room. Dinner taken in Gastro Bar (I guess not enough people to open the restaurant). Persons on half board choose from a fixed menu - about 5 items in each section. Good food. Main bar was deserted in the evening - the only people around in the hotel seemed to be in the Gastro Bar. Hope it gets back to normal in the Spring, as this is basically a nice place to stay.
