Went 2 couples for an evening out, service only starts at 8pm.
Well cooked fish nothing spectacular but well prepared and fresh.
Quite pricey for my taste,4 people €126 plus tips.only 1 beer and some coke.
Cheap plastic chairs.
Will return but not too soon

“Fish baked in salt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

It's amazing! The fish was so flavorful and moist (and not salty - the salt is removed & the fish filleted at the table - fun to watch)

“Lively place good Veg Paella”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

When holidaying in the area always have a meal here late in the evening (10+). Cannot book but you can wait at the bar whilst waiting for an outside table. Then sit an enjoy the atmosphere and Spanish food. My wife is vegetarian and can enjoy a great veggie Paella (although you need two to try and eat it all). Mostly Spanish eat here and speaking a little helps but most of the staff can speak a some (or more) English. All very busy and lively until late into the night

“Still the favourite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

This is an old favourite of my family, and we eat here often. It is the largest seafood restaurant in La Carihuela that has something for everyone.

True, this place can have off nights as some have commented. However in my experience over the years, the consistency of the quality of the food and service at this large establishment is hard to beat. You pay a little more, but the quality is there.

Whats new here is that they aquired a new building space with an ocean view. You can choose to either dine inside the air-conditioned restaurant, or immediately outside along the corridor lined with tables.

For those of you that only associate paella with Spain, please try the Fiduea (€33) for a change. This is a delicious combination of seafood, sweet red peppers, and short noodles cooked in broth (but not served soupy) and topped with carabineros. The resulting creaminess of the pasta mixed with the bits of seafood and sweetness of the peppers is incredible. The paellera is carted to your table where they will plate the dish for you. Try a bottle of Barbadillo white wine with this (€12.50).

The Fritura Malaguena (€17.50), Adobo (€10.40), Coquinas (€11.40), Boquerones Fritos (€9.40) and Pulpo Gallega (€13.50) are all recommended. Try a plate of the roasted red peppers with any fried fish dish. The fresh flavours are a great compliment.

This restaurant, like many others in the area, will bring a bread basket to the table and will charge for it (€0.90 each person). If you don't want the bread, simply tell the waiter to take it away. Double check the bill because i found that they will add the bread charge due to habit, but it is no problem when you tell them to take it off the bill.
